That is some serious INFI. This one os longer than the extravaganza model?

hehehe.... yes, it started life as a BM... it's freaking HUGE

I'll take my HOGFSH in a fight, any day. I think it comes down to which blade you feel most comfortable with, at least for me... then again the Srap Yard 6 is fast, pointy, agile... hmmm... great, now i'm contradicting myself...

Wow! Thanks for all these cool pics. That's some serious fighters. Always admire all those big, bad-a** bowie from other bladesmith, just wish it was made from INFI.

I love the late Bill Moran's ST-24, now Jerry has a ST-56, is that cool or what? :D

Need to save up for the custom shop and keep my eye on the extravaganzaaaaaaaa :)

JurT,
Thanks, I picked both of those up at Blade 2005. The top one has a one off "iced camo" and the bottom is a 9"+ fighter. Both very cool, neither of them really has a name but they are both one-of-a-kind pieces

:D:D

Here are a few choices for you. The SHSHIIs are very light, they are only .197 thick and since so much material has also removed, they are very fast! The California BARF'n is nice'n long and pointy too!

:D

I *LOVE* the FSH family, particularly the HOGFSH. *THEN* there is 'The Precious', the SHSH... It has the best balance of my Steel Hearts, and feels alive in my hand.

Having said that, I have a hard time carrying a SH with me legally here in Texas as a civilian.. So the Urban Defender and/or RT get the nod for daily knifey duties...

In Summary - My choices:
Steel Heart for combat or heavy field use
UD or folder for daily / civilized tool use
Bonus Opinion: 4" of INFI in trained hands is better than nothing:D
Bonus Bonus Opinion: IF I CAN ONLY GO WITH ONE - I GO BIG!!!

Maybe I don't understand the definition of a "fighter" but as far as I'm concerned it could be whatever type of blade you are most comfortable with and feels good in your hands.

I think that although large blades are nice when talking about "fighting" I doubt that there are many who would carry a very large or long knife with them. If that is the case then I'll put my AK against any other blade out there, nice balance, excellent range, and indestructable. It would seem that a more realistic blade would be something in the 4-7" range, for me the Badger, Outlaw, or Jack line makes the most sense. Not to mention that they are both large AND small enough to be used for most tasks while maintaining a low profile.

Then again, maybe its sour grapes since I don't own a ST or variant like the rest of you. :D

One good point you make follows my instructors advice - have a blade that fits you, your style, your attitude and your training. 4'' is enough, 7" is plenty. Teeth work in a pinch :D

I agree, Force one with a little extra attention on the tip from the shop....

Cool. Those are great looking blades and look fast and nimble

CHECK OUT THE 6th POST, I guess the photo matched "BIG BARF" - but thought it was FUNNY LMAO.

For all my love of sharp things and the newly acquired taste for Busse and INFI in particular, the best fighter knife is still a gun, period. Knife is but a tool, not a weapon for servicemen. Everything else is mall-ninja talk. I'll take a Glock 17 (yeah, the measley 17-shot 9 mm "pea-shooter") against any knife, any day :p . Just my $ 0.17 (adjusted for inflation).

As for the best tool for the job, it really is a personal preferrence. I consider the form of BATAC LE to be superior to any other - you can use it as a slicer, dicer, skinner, chopper, it's more than strong enough for prying and if need be, you can sure as hell stab someone or slit his throat (not that I'd ever want to do that).

Oh, and in case it was a mandatory knife-fight, no guns allowed, I'd take the AK. Or better still, the Dragon's Fang :D

Cheers, Rok
