Which Izula the first time?

I found most of the suff in the kit to be useless for my needs. I would have preferred a Tec-Loc to most of that stuff. It was a gift though, so I can't really complain.

Where does one get the Tec-Loc stuff ?

I have some para cord but nothing else that comes with the kit.

The kit is like an extra $20. IMO The only way it's worth while is if you'll actually use the Molle Lock and the flint. The rest of the stuff is worth probably less than $5.

Sweet knife though and I CAN'T WAIT for the folder.

Tec-Loc would have been awesome though, I'd love to put this thing on my belt. I guess I could use paracord, but I'm not crazy about undoing my pants everytime I take off the sheath.

Check out the Spyderco g-clip. Fits the Izula sheath perfectly, and does not require that you take off your belt to put it on. You don't even need to wear a belt. I use mine with belt-less shorts all the time. They can be ordered by phoning Spyderco and they cost about $6.

Is the G-clip good? I've heard from a few people that it's kinda weak after being used for a few weeks. You find that to be the case?

I haven't had any trouble with the G-clip holding up since around August. I don't yank it on and off that often though, so I can't speak for anything other than delicate handling.

It is not weak. I have used one for about 6 months and have noticed no weaking of any kind. It is a completely rock-solid mount that I have had no issues with. I sometimes run with it on running shorts and it even holds onto the lightweight shorts material with ease.

Which sheath comes with the Izula ? Is it the black one? :thumbup:The Tek-lock
is it not black,or are there different colors?

Thanks

Every Izula comes with a standard, plastic-molded sheath (black, btw). Every Tek-Lok I've ever seen is black. You will need to get the Tek-Lok separately since it is not sold with the Izula.

Black is the classic one for me, no kit because I already had better stuff. I para corded it in green OD, only because that is what I had.

And make sure it is the LARGE TEK-LOK, small will work but it's a PITA.

Actually, the small one works just fine for me. A nice user (sorry, can't remember your name :o) helped me out. Just look for the thread "I Think I Fudged Up..." ;)

I just received my first RAT, an OD Izula. I didn't get the kit because I didn't think I would use enough of the items to make it worth the money difference. I wrapped mine with Orange paracord. I am really liking it so far. I don't see this being my only RAT.

Thanks for the recommendation, I'm going to pick one up for sure. They're out right now though, they told me to try again in 2 weeks. Best of all, shipping to Canada is only going to be $2.

I'm on a non-black knife kick right now. I can tell my daughters and my friends are more scared of black knives. (Believe me, I'm not a threatening person in my appearance, actions or words). Even so, black knives tend to have this affect on people.
