Which knife are you embarrassed to carry?

Funny thing about the Sebenza comment is that I actually lie to my friends how much mine costs for that very reason. They would actually think I'm a dumbass if I told them I paid $475 for a pocket knife. I remembered last week at dinner my friend needed his wrist band cut and asked if I had a knife on me. When I took out the Sebenza to cut it my other friend who is a knife nut asked the wrist band guy, "You know that knife right there... it's REALLY expensive". The wristband guy replied, "How much is it? Like $100?" I just said..... "yeaaa..."

It's funny you say that. I had a coworker that noticed my sebenza in my pocket. He asked to see it, and of course the inevitable, "How much was that?" I told him $80 and he said I was crazy. He ran out to his car to get his knife. It was a tanto Buck, with a combo edge. He didn't know which one it was so I told him it was a mini bones. It was so dull that you could run it on skin with pressure, no problem. Took one smack for the lock to fail. I just smiled and let him make rips on how much money I spent on something he spent $15 bucks on.

Speaking of a dull knife. Couple of the guys I work with, carry knives. Sometimes I will ask if I can see them, and when they let me see them, they are all happy to show me. Then I when I explain to them how you can tell if your knife has a decent edge on it by cutting small pieces on their back of their thumb nail with the edge of their knife. Soon as a demonstrate with their knife on my thumb and 95% of the time it slips right off my thumb, and their face goes :grumpy: LOL

Non Knife people entertain me

When I use to work in the restaurant business. I remember the managers didn't like the fact that I carried a pocket folder with a 2.5" blade in order to open, boxes, and soup bags. But get a load of this, they rather me use, get ready...ok...A 9" BUTCHER KNIFE, to open boxes, and soup bags...

Heck even the waitresses would get mad at the cook's and pick up one of these 9" butcher knives, and literally toss it at the cook, but the managers were terrified of my little folder.

I would be embarrassed to not have a knife when I need one. No matter the brand, price or county of origin.

Unfortunately, many places in the USA now limit your right to protect yourself. Public events, amusement parks, city/state buildings & property, schools & school property, concerts & even some citys limit knife carry. Thats the way it is. I think the people who passed these laws should be responsible for you & your medical bills---should something happen & you could'nt protect yourself.

But anyway, i am not embarrassed to carry any knife i own.
