Which knife for urban survival?

I have a scott hendryx shoulder harness for my SRK, in case of serious need.

I usually carry 2 spydies.

sometimes I carry a cold steel master hunter, you can reverse the kydex for under the arm carry. with a pulldown draw it is excellent and one of the fastest I've experienced.

depending on the circumstances, I keep all 3 options availiable. mostly it is R&L spydies.

Owen: a Rinaldi LUK is his light utility knife model. It was in an article in TK on "city knives". Think of it as an early Gambit/Police model.

Here's my list of knives I have at my immediate disposal whenever I'm in my car:

On person: EKI Commander and SOCFK, Native in neck sheath, Gerber Legend multitool

In car: EKI SARK for auto accidents

BM Nimravus Cub M2 in briefcase

CS SRK, EKI Commander, and SAK in backpack.

I think I'm pretty much covered. :D

It'd be nice if we had some idea what you intend it for.
To fight with, you'd probably want something like the Applegate Fairbarn, the covert if legal lenth is the concideration. A SAK, or multitool would be better if you want the multifunctionality do all device, while a fixed blade would be better for a sharpened pry bar.
"Urban survival" is a broad subject, and not much different from other types of survival as far as knife selection excepting the possible exception of legality.
My personal choice is a home made ring handled skinner in 1/4" stock that's almost exactly the same size as my flattended hand. I think any blade is better than none as long as you know how to use it. If not, you wouldn't be on this forum in the first place, right?

Small fixed blade within state regulations that you do not need training to utilize and can be quickly and easily deployed, is razor sharp with a belly that will slice deep, can be held unobtrusivley before usuage, a throw away if need be, enough weight and heft to add power behind the stroke, can be thrown if need be, and can carry more than one, doesn't slip from your grasp, can be used short or long grip.

Dozier Razorback, utilizing neck and/or behind the back/in the pants sheath. Try it, you'll like it.
