Hi everyone...

I'm new in here - from Denmark...

Found a picture on the internet of a knife which I really love.. But I have no idea about where to get it and who made.. I think it's a company called Busse but don't know for sure... I've tried to find their webpage, but only found a really amateur webpage which I don't think can be from a serious company.

Somehow I con't figure out how to attach a picture..

I belive it's called

Busse
Custom shop
#262

If someone knows anything about it please let me know.. Price, knife data and so one...

Is it possible to change the handle and does it come with a sheath...

Hope to get some help..

Mavat,
The Busse Custom Shop makes many different models, and many of them will have serial #'s. I would think the blade you are looking for is #262 of one of their runs, A picture would help narrow it down. Good luck on the search!

Velkommen til Busse Forum!!

Post the link to the pic, and then we can help you.

Oh Yeah............... Ole 262 Custom Shop Model..........Hum.......... I got nothing :) You will have to give us a little more help Mavet. Welcome to the Busse forum BTW. Someone here will figure it out but need something to go by, at the very least, a physical description of the blade. Registered member's cannot post pic's unless they go to a picture host like photobucket.com or imageshack.com. It will be interesting to see the blade that has you in a uproar! Busse's can have that effect on people and SwampRat is pretty good at it also.

This one?

BTW that is not my knife or picture. It is from another member.

#262 is an ABA Limited Edition with Snakeskin Micarta scales. #262 is not a model number, it is a serial number, so there were hundreds of ABA LEs, of which this was #262.

The reason there are very few knives on the Busse site is because of their business model. They only produce one model at a time and offer that on their website. When they are done with that production run they do not mass produce that model again except for small runs that are sold here on the forums in Ganzas or in person at shows.

The ABA is an example. It was produced years ago and is no longer produced, which is why it is not on the Busse website.

The Busse world can be confusing to newcomers. There are 3 separate entities here:

www.bussecombat.com

That is the website of the Busse factory. It shows the model that they are currently producing. That is where you buy direct from the factory. What you need to understand is that the model that is up at busse.com is not necessarily in stock for immediate order and delivery. It is the knife that they are currently producing. Depending on when you place the order, lead time can vary greatly, from months to days. If you order early you will wait longer but they only charge your credit card shortly before they ship. They have a link for ordering the production model on the site:
http://bussecombat.com/miva/merchant.mvc?

www.bussecompanystore.com

The Busse Company Store is separate store run by idahoskunk who posted above. He is a Busse dealer that is supplied directly from the factory. He sells production runs. Sometimes he sells the current or recent production model (that is or was at bussecombat.com) and sometimes he sells limited production runs that were not posted at the factory website.

www.bussecustomshop.com

The custom shop is at the Busse factory and is run by Garth who posted above. The custom shop does some limited production runs (like the ABA above) and also does one-offs to customer specifications. So you can contact him and he can make you what you want.

Bladeforums Exhange

Most of us buy and sell previous production models here on the Exchange section of the forums: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php/804-Busse-Swamprat-Scrapyard-Knives-For-Sale

So if you want an ABA LE you have to watch the Exchange, but they those do not come up very often, and you have to be the first to snag it when it does. You can also post a "Want to Buy" in the WTB section of the exchange and if anybody wants to sell one they will contact you. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php/683-Wanted-to-Buy-Knives

The other option is to contact Garth.

Some sites with info of past production models:

www.bussecollector.com

wow, Tim, what are you psychic? I don't know if we would have ever found that model for this guy if you hadn't posted that pic! Is it really the knife he likes or does he really like #262?:D:D

Original thread on the ANOREXIC BADGER

It's almost nine years old now, so the only place you might find one is on the secondary market for $700+ (just my guess, it could be less but probably more) and they don't come with sheaths. However, there are plenty of sheath makers listed on the Busse site that could make one.

Mathias, you picked a winner! That is a very sought after model, but the only place to get it is in the aftermarket. The LE version shown, numbered with satin finish and snakeskin micarta scales, will be pricey and hard to find. There have also been coated versions, known as Combat Grade. That model came in two basic versions, one known as the Badger Attack 3, and a thinner version, the Anorexic BA3, or ABA. An equally rare Desert (tan coated) variant was on the Exchange recently.

Happy hunting!

edit to add: a satin.black paper model sold last year for $488, that was a very good price for the buyer.

Busse knives no longer come with any sheaths but I have one from Dwayne Puckett (Armoralleather) for this baby.

I must say.... it was a pain in the neck to find this one.
Welcome to the forum and happy hunting!

Nice pitchure  This is how my luck worked out also. When I first came to Busse/kin, I looked at the many model's they had, and made a list of the ones I wanted, only looking at the price when they were released. I felt pretty smug about it, until I realized the price they sell for now, and also realized they are not regular offering's. That list shrunk mighty quick.:)
