As the subject said I'm curious as to what knife or knives hold the most sentimental value for you? I'll start it off by saying that mine are two that belonged to my late Father who died when I was twelve. They are a Schrade Cut Co. push-button automatic and a small two blade V'nox manufactured knife that has the logo of the company for which he worked on the scales.

A Benchmade 705. Two days before cancer took my father he asked to look at the knife I had clipped to my jeans. He felt its edge with his thumb and said with a smile, "sharp", and nodded with approval. He always liked a sharp pocket knife.

That was the last day he sat outside in the sun.

I have a few old Doctor pattern folders that belonged to my grandfather I cherish. I also carry a SAK Spartan everyday that my wife gave me when we were first dating.

This is an easy question to answer! It would be without doubt the Buck model 500 my Pop gave to me when I was in High School. That little knife literally went all over the world with me while I was a crewchief in the Air Force. I love that knife, it has since been retired in honor to the gun safe. I don't even want to think about losing it.

Easy, A chinese cleaver that I saw my father use almost every time he cooked. That knife and hopefully a love of cooking will be passed on to my son and I hope my grandson.

That's easy. It's Doris. :)

That would be the G-10 Spyderco Police model that a fellow forumite (Allen E. Treat) sent to me as a gift.:). That knife is a "keeper".

I'm a "Knife-A-Holic", and have more knives then I will ever use. I love to collect Autos, because I don't make them, and Heaven knows I have plenty of fixed blades around my shop. I need to have 60-80 of my knives on hand for my table, when I do a knife show. However, none of these knives holds as much attachment to my "Inter-Being", as the Randall Made # 14 Survival, that I used and abused, on a daily bases in Nam, from 66-67-68. It tought me respect and admiration for the custom knifemaker's craft. It showed me how much punishment a young G.I. and his knife can take, and keep comming back for more. It set my heart and soul on the custom knifemaker's road, were I have found peace and harmony, working with my hands. I would enter a burning building to retrive it!! It is the only knife I will request be pass on to my son, and of all my knives he will get, it's the one I hope he will keep.

I still have the knife I made in my fathers shop class. It was 7th or 8th grade. O1, Koa, and hours of half assed filework :) I'll take a picture of it someday!!

My dad gave me my first knife when I was 4. 44 years later I have added some quite a few knives to that one, but it is still the most special one to me. It represents the trust my dad had in me and the time he took to make sure he did all he could do to use the knife with responsibility.

I've got two two-blade jacks that were my grandad's. One is a rosewood-handled Robeson and the other's a bone-handled Schrade-Walden easy opener. Both are seriously worn down, and perfect. :)

My first, made from an old file with acetate handle & aluminium butt cap, it's pants as a knife, but it's my first;)

An old hunting knife my father used to use. He used it so much before I was born, the blade had gonedull, gray, and black from staining in the field. I think the original profile is long gone after the repeated sharpenings. The leather holster is so well worn in it feels like suede now. The knife definitely had some stories carried with it.

hmm...probably a tossup:

- the engraved gent's Buck my wife gave me when I got my Masters degree

- the Buck 110 that has sat unused in the box since my Dad gave it to me when I was 16.

- the Mirage I clipped to my scrubs when my 2nd daughter was born

- the STIFF Kiss I (accidentally) stabbed myself with the day she was born - my wife, daughter, and me were all being treated in the same hospital at the same time!

Kissing Crane stockman - had it in my pocket the day my daughter was born. Have a BM 722 that my wife bought for our anniversary. She went to the knife store, questioned the sales guy and made a decision on her own. A total surprise that blew me away! Both have great 'value' to me.

The USMC Kabar my grandfather just recently gave me. He carried it all around China during his years in WWII...and then my dad used it when he was a kid to bushwhack and (once) to kill a woodchuck in hand to hand combat:p

Also the old Case my dad bought when he was in his teens...he gave it to me for Christmas.

That's easy, Case 3 bladed stockman. My dad carried one and every evening emptied his pockets onto the nightstand and I would see it there. I own many stockmans, I'm still searching I guess for the one he carried, maybe someday I'll find it. The main blade had a very stiff spring.
my little six year old fingers tried to open it once, the blade snapped back and cut me, I was forbidden to touch knives again. My lifelong fascination with blades began from that point.

My grandad gave me a small 2 blade pocket knife and a boy scout hatchet about 25 years ago when I was about 8, the pocket knife has no brand on it very small with pearl looking handles might have been worth 2-3 bucks but it's priceless to me. The hatchet I thought was lost years ago we found out in a tool shed last year rusted looked awefull I spent a few days cleaning and polishing it up and was quite surprised at how well it looks, I was just glad to have found it now have both those items my Grandad gave me.

My Cold Steel Mini Tanto, For many years of personal protection. And my Benchmade model 45 Balisong! For obvious reasons.;)
