Which Knife Holds The Most Sentimental Value For You?

As a kid in the 50´s and 60´s I was living with my grandparents who had an orange orchard outside a small town in Mexico, my Grandmother had a german folding hunter with locking main blade, saw, stag scales and fancy bolsters. Years later when I finished college she gave it to me, one spacer was bent and the stag separating from the bolster, main blade was loose and pitted despite being stainless. I fixed it the best I could and started carrying it, one day it just wasn´t there, must have slipped out of my pocket, I was hard not to cry.

It's interesting to note the multi-generational family aspect of many of the replies. The two knives that I mentioned at the beginning of the thread are two of twenty or so knives that belonged to my Father that are now part of my collection. There are even a couple that have China stamped on them but in their own way they are just as meaningful as any of the rest. The monetary value of a knife has nothing to do with it's "true" value when the knife has passed through the hands of someone that you love.
