This is the title of a thread over at JD.com, and I thought it would make for some great discussion over here. This can be a knife from your collection, someone else's collection, a knife you've seen, and you can ONLY NAME ONE!

I'll start with the Rick Hinderer Firetac Extreme's. They are everything I always wanted in a super-sized sebenza. Another added plus is that Rick makes these with the same kind of precision that CRK does. You just have to pick one up and handle it to see what I mean!

So bring them on..........this could get very interesting...

As much as Chris Reeve Knives impresses me, Victorinox impresses me the most. This kind of cosistency on this large of a scale is unheard of anywhere else.

There are a few at the top of my "list", but at the risk of knee-jerk reactions that will be lurking out there, I would have to say CRK Sebenza.

That I own, the Caly Jr never ceases to amaze me. Of the customs I've handled..rj martin

If I'm only allowed to name ONE, I don't think I can answer the question. There are 3 or 4 knives that impress me the most but for different reasons.

Easy, my older Busse Fat Straight Handled Badger Attack. I've never had a knife that fits my hand so well and 'feels' so right. It's part of my FB EDC rotation of a couple of smaller Busse's.

It is my favorite knife, period. I also have a Sebenza that I EDC every day (my only folder, Firetac next), but nothing in my collection, including customs, impresses me like that chunky SHBA.

My Bradshaw DB Midlock Folder. Simple, elegant detail that fits as a work knife and a dress knife. Perfection!

I'll have to go with the Mnandi. It's a "gent" knife made from "tough as nails" materials that is meant to last. ;)
Hey Art, GO HEELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll have to go with Victorinox, too.
Over the years I've handled a lot of knives and carried them in different environments, but no matter the task at hand or the place were I was, I always had a trusty SAK in addition to any other blades.
It's the kind of knife you can recommend to a friend with absolut confidence and that somehow keeps its charm. There's just something about simple models like the Soldier or Farmer, that just screams "take me with you".

If we are talking fixed blades (I know you only wanted one knife, but folders and fixed blades are very different) I'll have to say that Scandi knives blew me away. I'm a big fan of traditional moras, they are just incredible good for the price. I usually carry a high end knife into the woods with me, but I know my moras can do everything I need. Lately I've been using them as back ups for my big blades instead of taking a folder, and as a main blade when I need to go really light. Great performers, simple and time tested design.

Great selection of knives being named. Keep 'em coming!

OH YEAH....'HEELS RULE!!

Strider Knives.

I love their knives - and they keep coming up with awesome customs.

Gerber Silver Trident. Gerber has let some things slip in the past few years but I think they got this one right. Good steel, Great handle (shape and construction) with a hammer capable butt. Very sharp and ground flawlessly. Its my favorite fixed blade to have with me. You really have to handle one to really appreciate its handle design. The only thing I would prefer is a version with no serrations at all.

The Scott Cook Lochsa. I just keep wondering how he does it, it really takes folder making to the next level.
