Which knife is most associated with each country?

I think Morocco is better known for the nimcha rather than the flyssa.

Sudan: Kaskara

China: Dao

Philippines: Either the barong or karambit

Italy: Gladius

Switzerland: SAK. Duh. :p

i've seen very few kerambits here in the philippines (except for long sickles used by gardeners.) and barong is a knife style favored by only a small part of the warrior muslim class.

i would say the balisong for the philippines, or the working gulok (machete.)

I say those two because they're the widest known, though certainly not the widest used. :)

Malaysia : Golok
China : Dadao
Philippines : Barong, Bolo, Kampilan, Ginunting and etc.
America (with respect to French Navy and Red Indians): Tomahawk?
Germany : Seax?

Scotland also. When I looked it up, it had both countries. Most of what I found said it is a traditional knife to be worn with a kilt.

I always think anthropomorphic-hilted or ring-pommeled swords with Ireland. Or Imperial pocket knives. :)
