Hey guys,

I just saw the newest Trailer for the upcoming movie „Mission Impossible - The Final Reckoning“ and right in the beginning you can see a knife.
Does anyone know by chance if this knife is actually a real existing knife or just a movie prop?

These screenshots are from this clip:
(Roughly at 0:09min)

Thx in advance and best wishes from Germany,
Philipp

I think some of it was cgi - for the fall and stick in the desktop
But Jean holds it before the drop and then (cant remember exactly when in the movie)
he uses it to kill someone through a metal bar fence
and then its in the new movie - trailer at least - so prop ?

Thx to y‘all for the quick replies!

I remember sitting in the movie theater, watching MI:2 and then seeing the famous scene with the knife stopping just before TC‘s eye, and I was like:
Hold on a second, I pretty sure that‘s the knife I own for a few years, and yes, it was my/the Kershaw knife.

My hopes are that the knife in the (last) Mission Impossible is a real one, cause I‘d buy one for sure!

Ah well , movie knives maybe not the best for anything real life . 😏

Edit : Excepting John Wick , of course ! :p

Tbh, I didn’t use my Kershaw knife for anything in real life ;)
I bought it in the early 90s because my (older) cousin had this knife and I liked it from the get go :)
And till now I haven’t used it for anything 😁

I dont have insta deal but I was able to read using magnets to hold closed...and then insta kicked me off without logging in. would ya mind elaborating more on this movie knife, ya made, here for us? is it a working knife that could be used heat treated blade, etc? is it something you would normally make or a one time deal? sure ya already covered all that in your insta post but I couldn't read it all. thanks much......

What's cool is that he is the same Michael May that makes the cool traditional knives. I hope he sticks around here.

I think I saw a knife like that in the display case at a truck stop. You'd think Tom would have something classier, like a Sebbie.
