Which knife/knives will you buy with your Rebate Check???

Not getting one unfortunately due to being declared on my parents tax return. However if I do get one somehow prob saving for college expenses.

It looks like they're talking about a $300 rebate for each child in addition to the husband/wife rebates. So you may wish to mention that to your parents. Good luck (if your parents are like mine were or like I am now - you'll need it!).

I'll be looking at a Bark River Gunny. It should be in the works by the time they get those rebate checks out to us:)

As things currently stand, it doesn't look like my family will be getting a payment. So, you're all welcome!

Inci.---pull a bank job and let the weapon be one of your knives! Scratch that. Better use a gun.

i pay more than enough each year to deserve a little money from the goverment to but another knife like a benchmade when they give me my money back in my hand!!!!

Probably put a little more with it and see if I can score a Pat Crawford large Kasper, maybe the linerlock version as it is a little bit thicker through the handle and feels better in my hand.

If not this, then I'm thinking about a Bark River Rouge, and if I really like the AL Mar SERE 2000 coming tomorrow, I may also go ahead and get a Vallotin conversion of the SERE 2000. Would probably have to add about the same amount of money for option 1 or option 2.

I agree with two of the first few posters: Buy American if possible, and - I too look down on people who spend incoming money on stuff like this. So I'll be looking down on myself while holding a new Bark River ((( :D )))

With 4 kids at home, we're looking at about $2200, or so. I'm sure my wife won't begrudge me a few hundred $$. If so, I'll add it to my knife-savings account, and pic up a D. Ralph Gunhammer EDC-X with carbon fiber and the assist option.

Economically speaking, the best thing to do with the check is spend it FAST, because as someone already noted, we'll be paying for it in the long run with increased inflation. The second best thing to do with it is invest it in real property/gold/stock. Worst thing to do with it is hold on to it, i.e. put it in the bank. Basically, whatever you do, get rid of it and get something in your hands that is actually worth something because the money will be worth less soon.

I'm looking probably at a spyderco delica wave. I need to see what new stuff is out there though, I haven't been keeping up.

In the spirit of the question (setting aside reality of where the money will probably truly go) I would be looking for a Busse FFBM. Might even be a better return on investment than stocks or real-estate right now.... except I would plan to beat on it which could knock a little future value out of it :)

Due to a few recent threads I've been doing a lot of research on Busse. Are the Battle Mistress's still available or are you referring to ebay or something?
