Which knife(s) to take?

Yea, it wasn't much, maybe 3/16". I need to take the scales off to see how much metal is left in that area. Today I will be taking the BK16 and the Bushcraft Sr. Maybe they can help me find something dry enough to burn.

I opened mine up about 3/16" in the back and front both - mostly opening up the angle a bit in the front and it helped a LOT.
on my 21, I filled the front and back of the grivory/ultramid with epoxy, put the scales back on, and started grinding -- no worries about running out of steel, but the epoxy shows through in a few spots.
used to have a pic, but it got lost when the forum software changed.

Depending on the nature of the...uh...nature, in your neck of the woods, for wood processing, either get the 9, or a hatchet. A fixed blade, a pocket knife, an axe, and a saw you can do anything. Trips on foot, I bring a hatchet. Via canoe, I bring a 3/4 axe. If it's winter, or I can drive nearish to camp, I bring a full size axe.

But the BK9 is one hell of a bush knife. Limbs up like a lightsaber.

No Becker knife can replace the bk9, except the bk20 or 29(which are pretty hard to find these days). A 3-4” bladed hawk will complement the 9,7, or 2 nicely The Becker Reinhardt kukri can replace a hatchet in many circumstances.

I think we are basically in agreement—I just happen to really like the bk20, even though it’s not available anymore. Or were you referring to my hatchet carry?
The former.

Well I definitely agree that of all the Becker production knives, the bk9 is the best hands down. I mostly just use my 7’s, 5’s, and 2 for “playing,” while the 9 is in my top 3 or at least top 5 used knives of any brand.
