Yes. I have a BM-Emerson 975 which is chisel-ground AND a tanto blade (I wish I could change my mind on that tanto. I'll never buy another). But don;t expect your chisel ground to be close to 30 or 40 degrees. Chances are it'll be 50 or 55...just a guess. So you have to lay the edge up against the stones and study it a bit... take your time, then do your best to duplicate that angle as you sharpen.
