Which knife to carry for deer hunting (103/102/105)?

I take a 422 and a 102...

Fritz, I hope you get a deer this year... How many more knives do you need for your set...
and which ones do you still need... If I see any good deals I'll let you know... :)

I held of on this thread till I used my 102 hunting today and she is definatly to small for my mitts so I say the 119 and a 110:confused:but all in all I prefer a 317 for deer hunting.

Dogg, try a Buck 118 sometime - blade about like the one on your 102, but with a handle size like a 105 - just a great blend of the right parts in the right places. OH

118 I'll try one.Love my 119 but toooo much blade for deer.I like yer 113 but I have an Olsen skinner and an Anza with the same size and style I'll have ta find a 118.

Not that it is needed, but my favorite of all the Buck blades I've used would be the 105. From field to freezer this one will handle all of the jobs and cuts easier than most. For field dressing all you really need is a 3" traditional folder. I completely processed a deer using one just to say I did it. It worked well for everything but cutting out the roast and making steaks. You needed two cuts because the 3" blade just needs a little more reach. When field dressing you're never cutting anything over a 1/4" thick.

WF,Your right I do all my field gutting with a 303 Buck or a 340 Schrade.A fixed blade for skinning and cutting out the first steak to be grilled that day;)
