Hi members,

my girlfriend told me that I have to sell some knives of my collection because there far too many so far in her opinion.:grumpy:

So I need some help to decide...I can only keep one of these:

Boker / Germany 112011V Violeta wood

Kershaw 1040 Folding Field II Sandalwood

Al Mar Sere Attack 3002 Green Micarta

Kershaw 1050 Folding Field Phenolic

PUMA Universal-Jagdmesser 959 Stag

Which one would you keep and why?

Thanks in advance:thumbup:

Keep em all. She says you have too many? If she thought you were buying too many, thats one thing. Either you really are buying too many, or she thinks you're not spending enough on her. But she says you have too many? Thats ridiculous. Tell her she has too many shoes, see what she says. If she says okay, then watch out. She is either thinking the big M word, or has a bun in the oven.

Whatever happens, expect serious withholding.

Put her on a street corner.

...beneath my car to sell my watches?;):D

Will do...:D

I'll take the brown watch.

I'm sorry, but if you came into the relationship with certain posessions, then it's up to you what you do with them. Neither of you have the right to ask the other to sell there stuff. If you are buying to many, than I would understand her telling you you need to stop for a while. But unless you want to trim down your collection, it's none of her business what you acquired before the relationship.

That's all I have to say, but of course you don't have to take my advice. Good luck.

Too many expensive hobbies here, that´s for sure: technical diving, car hifi, high-end hifi in our living room, collecting watches and knives etc...;)

Don't ever let her find out how much money you have in your tech diving gear, she will really come unglued especially if she thinks knives are expensive. You would be the first other tech-diver besides myself I have ever seen here on the BladeForums. I love my guns and knives, but cave diving and especially deep wrecks are really what gets my blood pumping.

Well, that's fine, maybe you just need to realize which ones to put on the back burner, and which one(s) to persue right now, but I don't think it's necissarily right to ask you to sell stuff that you already had, I could however understand her asking you to only continue persuing one hobby for the time being. Of course, if your ok with it, and feel that you need to sell some of your knives then that's fine 'cause that's your decision to sell your stuff.

FWIW, this is the wrong forum to try and convince that your knives are more important to get rid of LOL. Knives =; Diving =; High end livingroom Hifi =; Watch collecting = :thumbdn:(I don't even where a watch, so having a collection of them wouldn't make sense to me.); Car hifi = :thumbdn:.
That's just me of course, but alot of people here aren't going to have knives on there thumbs down list. If I had to pick one hobby though, it would be diving. I've never done it, but I've always wanted to, maybe someday when I can afford to, I'll try and talk the wife into letting me.

Anyways, to answer your original question, I think I would go with the boker, but then again I don't know much about some of those other knives, so...

BTW, what do you do for a liveing?! I might need to get myself into a different line of work! Oh, wait, your in Germany, so things are probably alot different.

911- It's customary to ask for pics, but in this case it would be inappropriate:). Maybe if Wifey would ever encourage me to cull the pile of knives, it would be good advice. :D Best Regards, ss.

Hi "tekkie", pleased to meet you here:thumbup:

My girlfriend is the best buddy I ever had but only concerning recreational diving...of course she knows how much TD equipment costs but for me as a dealer only half the normal price;)

In her humble opinion all my other hobbies are okay...knives are superfluous as she told me. That´s the reason why I´ll shrink my collection.
