I'm thinking about getting either the new Case (1 blade, yellow handle, wharncliff) or City Knife (designed by Bob Loveless, manufactured by Lone Wolf Knife).

Both employ the type of steel that I am not familiar with (unless they are also known by another name).

Case uses: chrome vanadium steel (http://www.1sks.com/store/case-cutlery-copperlock-yellow-hancle-html)

City knife uses: LV-03 high carbon stainless steel (http://lonewolfknives.com/store/pages/products-loveless-cityfld1.shtml#)

The knife should be used as an EDC, no hard cutting job.

Case’s chrome-vanadium steel is basically 1095 steel with some chrome and vanadium added. My guess is that it is similar to 0170-6C and Carbon V.

I don’t know what LV-03 is.

nothing wrong with either knife, they're both good. The case would require a little more blade care, but for what your looking for its not as expensive. On the same hand the city knife, a higher price, would be a good edc. It all comes down to what you want. you dont want to spend much, get the case, it will do just fine. you want something a little nicer, go for the city knife!!

Thanks a lot for the sugegstion and info. I might end up getting both knives...

At times when I am broke like now, two fine specimens emerged and make me even broke... dang !!
