If you had to take one of these knives with you for survival purposes, which one would you take, and why. I own these and am curious about everyones opinion about them. In you particular order...........
Gerber BMF
Buck 120
Ontario Rat 7
SOG 2000 Seal Knive
Newer KABAR with rubber handle and serations
20 year old SOG (not sure what the steel is)

The Rat 7.

I think it's got the best steel, best handle material,
good size.

the 20 year old SOG could be interesting if we knew
a little more about it...

It has a number on the tang, think I could use that to find out more about the knive? Paid $160 for it 20 years ago at a knive show.............

None. I'd take a Blade-Tech Pro Hunter Lite. It's stronger than most, great grip, and 440C offers the ideal blend of sharpening in the field, with corrosion resistance. Good for everything but chopping, and I wouldn't be suprised if...:D

Hey! - Going outside the choices in the original post -- ;)

I would've answered "none" too; and put some of my own
faves. Heck, I'd bring a few.

I've got an 18 year old SOG -- an early Special Forces Bowie.

That is one tough, reliable knife! Stays sharp for a long time under use and takes a VERY sharp edge.

This particular knife is deeply blued -- very hard to see in dim light.

If your 20 year old SOG is anything like my old school bowie, it would be my choice.

None of the above. Too big. I'd want no more than a 4" blade. Survival to me means snares, skinning, etc. Maybe it's just me, but I can't sufficiently control a blade bigger than 4" well enough to do fine work. I'd rather take a 3-4" knife and a hatchet.
