Which knives should get XL versions?

This is partially inspired by how infatuated I am with my Kershaw 4KXL - it's just a pleasure to carry, and is almost a completely different experience from the regular 4k that I did not like at all.

That got me thinking - how many knives would be improved by having an XL option? I'd love to see more of the Kershaw Emerson knives get the same treatment, and thought of a few others that might benefit from a 4" blade:

- ZT 808
- Spyderco GB Air
- Cold Steel Tuff Lite
- Kershaw Leek

... Okay, so I like long wharncliffe blades and can't afford the upcoming 0392WC. A guy can dream. I'm sure many of you don't think those knives need XL versions, but I'm not saying they should do away with the smaller ones either. What knives do you want to see a little bit / a lot bigger?

Agreed on the Kershaw Emersons. I'm surprised most of them are so small considering a Mini Emerson is really just an average sized folder.

I'd vote for a larger Skyline.

Sebenza 25... 5" blade.

Sebenza 25... 5" blade.

Are you sure that's big enough? ;)

I'm just the opposite. I'd like to see popular, large knives made in smaller sizes for ease of carry. For example, I'd be first in line if ZT released a 3.0" version of the 0562CF. I don't think that will ever happen, but a man can hope.

All the above are great choices. I think a Sebenza 25 in a 5" would be fantastic. but I also agree here ^ just for the simple fact that I spend more than half my day at work and I always carry my 940 just because of the slim ness and almost 1:1 size. So I can see this going one way or the other

I'd actually kind of like to see an XL version of the Svörd Peasant Knife, and not the "Giant" one they have that's not really a user. I mean one with like a 4"-4.5" blade and the length increased but not the width.

I'd second that.

And also a wharncliffe version of the same.

(It's a sickness.)

I'll trade you - you can have a mini 0562CF if I can get a 3.75-4" 0808. I never liked the 0562 platform anyway, but Rexford knows how to make a damned knife...

The Al Mar SERE 2000. Love the knife but haven't pulled the trigger yet because I want another 1/8 or 3/16 (at least) in blade length. WHY CAN'T THEY MAKE IT 3.75???? :sorrow:

...or the size of the old SERE Attacks.

Is it weird if I want one that already has an XL? Cold Steel Talwar is right up my alley, but I don't carry 5.5" blades and the regular is, weirdly for a 4" blade, just too small for my hands. I suspect adding even just .25-.5" of blade would add enough handle that I'd be good to go.

the zt0620 could use a bump in size, but it's weight would be outrageous.

an xl tuff lite sounds awesome, would be kinda like a benchmade loco.

Yes, I would definitely carry a 5.5" ZT0620... I'd carry 2!

Yeah. Maybe that's why Rick's designs aren't very popular. ;) In any event, I don't think ZT will make either of the models were hankering after, so I'm afraid a trade isn't very likely.

Id like to see a large zt 0900. Same everything just increase its percentage. It would be a beefy thick wide brick but I would love it. Id also like to see the Stupenza. A sebenza so friggin big you have no choice but to call it stupid. I like stupid.

Cold Steel Eland XL. Because who wouldnt want a 12" folder for $15 lol.
Really Id like to see some bigger traditionals. A 4" clip bladed half stockman with ~3" sheepfoot would be awesome in my book. Oh, and an XL bk14 would be cool, something like a 4" handle and 3.75" blade.
