Which knives would you pick for WWIII? (If it ever starts)

Realistically, if we’re talking about what you could carry on your person for a sustained amount of time, you can take a long gun, a sidearm, a 7-9” fixed blade, and a smaller fixed blade or folder. That’s on top of your other survival gear. It would be tempting to drop the rifle or shotgun to cut on weight, but you’re gonna miss it bad when you finally need it.

Not a gun owner yet, but I’d be plenty happy with a Mini-14 and a 1911. Six mags for the former, ten for the latter. Recon Tanto and the Izula for my pair of knives.

Oh no, no, no, no, I'm not going anywhere without my Rem M887 Nitro-Mag Tactical 12ga shotgun! No way Jose!

For something like 12 generations, my family lives in a small town in France, near the German and Swiss borders.

Because of the wars, we were German, than French, then German…
Very often, we had to endure the fightings, until our own houses.

My grandfather was born German, in 1908. Then after the WWI, our town become French… again, and he recovered his French natonality.

Anyway… during World War II, my grandfather had to travel all around Europe, to put all the members of his family in a safe place.

When this duty were done, he fought nazis, from Chad to Germany, in… a M4 Sherman!

Why do I tell you this piece of family history?

Simply because during these very dangerous and troubled times, his only weapons (in addition to the tank !;)) were an Opinel n°8 and a 7,65Br (.32 ACP) pistol.

He was injured, but not killed.
He recovered his house and all his family survived.

So, I guess this knife and pistol represent a relevant choice.

Excellent choice. I like the compact form. Makes it easier to maneuver the weapon indoors. And besides, if the threat is beyond shotgun range, 99.9% of the time it's better to avoid a fight anyway.

A shorter tube means fewer shells. It maneuvers great. I think the barrel is 18.5" if I remember right.
I bought it as soon as I saw it in one of my magazines. I drove straight to Cabela's and bought it.

It's been fifty-couple years since I was in a shooting war. I still have the Camillus pilots survival knife I carried then, and I suppose it'd see me through another war, but I'd probably choose one of my Busses instead.

I will say that I, and I'm sure everyone else back then would've given anything for even a basic Leatherman multi-tool.

Just gotta make ‘em count then. ;) I recall reading somewhere though that shotguns are often reliable one-shot fight stoppers, but of course we shouldn’t get complacent. Clint Smith swears by shotties.

I will weld all my knives into a large ball I can fit inside, then I will safely roll across the hellscape in my knifey ball of pointy safety. ;)

I reckon these would do just fine...

Ok if I were to be gearing up for a ww/apocalypse/no law situation my choices would be -1 microtech socom , -2Leatherman wave, -3 survive knives gso 7/7

I have a gas powered forge. I can also, if need be, set up a charcoal forge.

I have made and heat treated and finished a knife without power tools (but it is not as fun). I even drilled pinholes and scale holes with. My hand crank drill.

Not sure what blades I would recommend for "war" if it came here.

I have a few Khukries, a machete khukri, fighting knives, etc.

Fightint axes and hawks also.

I don't plan on going anywhere unless I have to.

I live in a dead end cul-de-sac. Brother lives a few houses down.

Food supply and water filtration (portable and gravity fed).

Enough guns and ammo for my family.

Parents I've in same town. Though further away than I'd want to walk. He has tons of ammo and guns, and reloadint equipment, and his own food storage.

I like my neighbors.

What knife is that in the hat? Like the look of that.
It's a GEC H20 drop point ,but sadly they're not making them right now.

It's a shame too because they were only around $35 and a great deal, they still make their paring knives which are very though so I'm hopeful they will bring these back out.

Weapons have changed over the yrs...we no longer drop little bombs that blow up a building...we drop bombs that blow up a country.
If WW3 comes, I want a large enuf knife that I can dig a deep hole, climb in, and cover myself up with dirt.
...and say some prayers if you have enuf time...
