Which Kukri for all around camping/wilderness survival use

It's a shame I can't get it now. That been said, the handle seems thicker than the WWII. Is it my imagination?

No it isn't, most FF have thicker handles then most other kukris their size, although they are often shorter.

What ever you end up getting I am sure you will be happy with it.

My 15"Ang Khola villager is better at chopping, I think, than any of my hatchets. And I've used hatchets for decades....and I've only been swinging a khukuri for maybe two weeks. It is also pretty darn good at doing machete duties on thin scrub and vines....the only trouble being that being shorter than a machete, my hand sometimes contacts the prickly bits on the vines.

I'd love to try a longer khukuri, but the 15 incher has performed so well I know I don't need a longer one. Plus a longer one will be more inconvenient to carry around.

I recommend a 15" Ang Khola as a good first khukuri. You can try it and see how everything else compares. It is one heck of a good tool.

Your first choice, the AK, is probably exactly what you want and need. It may be a little heavier than a WWII or British Army, but not too much so. Whichever you decide on, be careful of the sharp pointy thing on the end of the scabbard -- other forumites have posted ideas on what to do about this. Also, you may want to get a satin finished "villager" khukri if you'll be using it for chores rather than show. And, if you keep checking the DOTD for "blems" you can find a khukri with minor cosmetic imperfections for a fraction of the usual price.

Noob here. DOTD?????

Deal of the Day...DOTD
Yangdu posts khuks and other blades for sale here at great prices. Keep checking back and you will see a dotd soon.

Guys, I'm surprised, thrilled and speechless. The Foxy Folly looks really beautiful and seems to fit the bill on what I'm looking for. I can't buy the one on sale right now, but I don't need to anymore. A very generous BF member is sending me a blem Foxy Folly at no cost. I don't know if I'm at liberty to say who he is, so I won't. I can say that he is very generous and I'm very grateful and very, very happy. :D

Now you can start to focus on your next HI product.:)

When you get your Folly, see how it fits into your Kabar "kuk like object" sheath. The Folly I have fits snug, but it fits and it makes for a much thinner rig.

Congrats, PM:) Kudos to the forumite that passed along some kindness:thumbup:
