I just got my first Strider, an AR in Ranger Green and this thing is a tank and sharp, very sharp. It is thick and just generally big. The large thick handle becomes very comfortable after you adjust from normally thin handled knives.

Kevin, you can't go wrong with something from Rick Hinderer!

while you are looking around, here is a Benchmade Rukus that I recently
picked up, big solid and very sharp knife;

here is an edge view, very closeup of the knife you can see how well they
ground down the blade to make it cut extremely well, and it's S30v also.

STrider, hinderer, or trident. Rick has soem beautiful knives and striders are sharpened prybars. I love them both.

How about a large Sebenza? If not, I would strongly suggest a Rick Hinderer XM-18.

BM rukus, pat crawford perfigo, persico or kasper folding fighter, darrel ralph (or cammilus) maxx, strider SmF, hinderer's stuff looks good too, maybe an emerson all ti CQC12..........

I am pretty much a devout Spyder-head and my first recommendation would be the Manix in either PE or CE. However I have to take my hat off to Benchmade this go around because that RUKUS truly looks like one of the best looking big folders I have seen in quite a long time.

At first glance I thought it was more or less Benchmade's version of the Manix but after a Closer Look I can see that it is truly a blade all it's own. Can't wait to get one. But don't tell the other Spyder-heads that I jumped ship

Kershaw might be coming out with a Titanium frame lock/ZDP-189 Cyclone soon! I have the regular Cyclone and it's awesome.:D

5.00" handle
3.75" Blade-and a lot of it
Assisted Opening with On/Off switch for Manual Opening if you prefer
Made in USA
MSRP-$250

Ther is a thread circulating with some pics too: look for 1630TiZDP

I too love my Spyderco's as well; and the Manix or Mini-Manix is a most excellent knife!!! I love mine.

At this point if i was to buy yet another EDC (just bought a Swamp Rat Rat Trap, its excellent) I'd go with a Hinderer or a Strider SNG, an Smf can sometimes be TOO big. lol. like wearing it in some dress slacks for example.

The Rat Trap I would suggest also, tip down clip so i dont stab myself each time i stick my hand in pocket for something else. lol. Its also under 200$ so as an EDC i wont lose my mind if I lose my blade. lol.

I would have to agree with xsrdx and suggest that you set about trying to find a MicroTech LCC Manual. It makes even the Spyderco Chinooks seem lightweight in comparison, although it is not really heavier. It is so solidly made that it certainly feels heavier, though. It is a tip-down carry, right handed knife, however. If that fits you, you will likely love it. I certainly love mine.

It's A solid very sharp blade made with a good steel and a strong lock. You can pick it up on line for about $120.00 and its blade length is about 3 1/2 inches long. Very good quality.
