Which Leatherman?

I have an older Wave and a Blast, which is like an older ST300.

For me the difference is, will I use the MT as a knife or will I use along with an EDC knife.

The outboard blades on the Wave make it a better knife. I dislike MT knives as knives since the ergos suck but when cutting dirty things like hoses and fertilizer bags, they're fine.

The Blast has more tools and gets carried in my EDC laptop bag or backpack. I prefer it as tool that supplements my knife but I find the knife blade to be redundant.

Good point about a MT as a knife or as an assist to a knife.

I almost always have a knife and a MT so the knife ergos are not that critical to me on the MT. But, when carried just with a larger fixed blade - then the Wave and its ilk shine.

Though it seems strange to me, I rarely carry just a MT; I may reconsider that in some scenarios.

The Wave is my favorite. Its a good combination of size, features, and one handed tool access. I don't carry a plier based tool often, but when I need one the Wave is my go to.

I like the Wave the best, the outershell inplements are perfect for me and my need of ease of access which is both blades and the file.I hip a tool pouch all day so have screwdrivers and pliers in reach at all time.

My dad got a wave before I was born. I'm 15. He used it heavily in the military. It just sits in the garage now. Other than stiff tool deployment it works like new

I have a Charge TTI with all the accessories. An original PST and a PST 2. My daughter has a Supertool 300. My charge is my favorite. However. The lack of replaceable jaws sucks. Admittedly I steal my daughters 300 a lot. A little big. But it does everything well. And it's loose enough I can open with one hand like a butterfly knife. Lol!

I've had the old wave for many years and used it a lot and loved it a lot! I recently upgraded to the new Leatherman Surge and I now love that even more. It has the replaceable plier cutter blades, the one-hand - outside accessable knife blades, the interchangeable bits and interchangeable file/saw blades (this is extra cool because the old wave did not have a metal saw, metal saw bits from power tools actually fit very nicely if they have the T-bar attachment part). It also has scissors on the outside which is a absolute plus for safety reasons and medical emergencies.

I don't mind weight difference because I like the bigger more solid feel of the Surge. I would definitely recommend the new Leatherman Surge if you don't mind the weight.

My favorite so far is the SideClip. Unfortunately those are disco. I have a Fuse, OHT, Wingman, Charge AL and Old Wave. Out of those I'd say the Charge is best with the Old Wave close behind.
