Which machete is for me? (leaning towards Ontario 18'')

As much as I want that chinese E-Tool I'm not willing to shell out 100 USD for it! I can do everything in that video with a pair of pliers and an older E-tool (the current US Issue E-tool has that handle that while is great for shoveling makes it akward to chop with and whatnot).

I didnt even know you could get one here. Got a link? I already have 2 german e-tools and they work great! I would like to get this one as well to add to my collection...But 100 is really pushing it!

I think I'm going to get rid of all other knives and tools and just use that ... but seriously, I'd like one, but the only ones I saw were for like 90 bucks. No thanks at that price. I'm hoping that since it is new, they will become more available (they have to right? if china makes one of something for the army, doesn't it have to make a few million?), the price will drop.

Post your link to the site that sells these. I know of no one that sells this in the States...would love to get one.

The only place I know to get them is ebay, so its 100USD + about 30$ shipping depending on where you live.

Yeah I just saw them on ebay too. I actually got to handle one of those german e-tools--definitely a tank. Good for shoveling, bad for carrying.

I have to go against the crowd here, I love the thicker ontario machetes. I'm a good size guy (6'2" 260lbs) and I have no trouble swinging the 22" model for hours at a time. I find that the thicker/heavier ontario machetes take bigger bites out of hard or dense woods without flexing as much as trams, and they make quick work of anything up to about 10" diameter as well. I've always looked at tramontina/imacasa/condor as brush machetes and coldsteel/ontario as a more heavy duty chopping tool.
