Purchased a Spyderco Military a few weeks back. Looks like G10 with CPM S30V steel. Has a spyderco emblem by the round hole.

Package says C36GSE Military with bar code 7 1610400355 6 and a GE on the package.

It's from the One Stop Knife shop, got a great deal on it but I'm not sure if they sent me a current version.

sounds like the current latest version to me. no worries

just for your peace of mind, check if it has smooth ridged spine- and choil-purchases, and you definitely got the latest

enjoy your Mili,

denn

How did you get a great deal on this knife? Is 1SKS having an unadvertised sale on these?

That is an acceptable deal, not a "great" deal. Don't get me wrong, you didn't get hurt or anything (you also managed to come in a few bucks under NGK's price). I simply misunderstood your original post and thought 1SKS was having some sort of a blowout sale on these.

It's difficult to go wrong with the Military. It is a tough piece. I have four of them and am always on the lookout for more. Lots of variants out there. Neat piece to collect, but it's true beauty is in actual use. :)

Harry, what Militarys' do you have? I got the Spyder Edge, was hoping to get a Spyder Edge or Combo Edge in Black but didn't know about NGK (except for them being under my hood- spark plugs).
I'm also looking at the Manix in combo edge, thought on that?

I only have one plainedged Military and that's because it isn't available with teeth (yet) its the excellent BG42 model with the carbon fiber scales. The Military is actually best when you get the combo edge configuration. I have a DLC coated black blade Mil with combo and it's awesome. Just enough serrations to provide power when needed and lots of plainedge for general cutting and slicing. Bladeforums members run screaming into the night when comboedge blades are mentioned. Combo blades are almost universally hated around here. They're cheating themselves if they overlook the Mil.

a place called wilddealz.com has them for 100$ and the para for 98$ if you want carbon fiber bg42 there 154$

Just got a carbon fiber bg-42 millie. Locks up like a tank and i found that bg-42 responds better to stropping than s30v. I havent needed to remove the stock edge yet but bg-42 is supposed to be much much easier to sharpen.
