Which Mini Griptilian

I have the sheepsfoot with the spydie hole and love it. I believe the sheepsfoot blade has a thinner grind, which makes it a superior slicer (but maybe also more fragile for any abusive work). I'm not a fan of thumbstuds so I wouldn't get one like that, not even the Ritter. Contradicts my 'high speed, low drag' proclivities, LOL. :o My only wish is that mine had the G10 handles, so if you can opt for that, I'd say do it.

I just placed an order for a plain edge 555. Thanks for all of the advice.

the thumb stud and the one with the hole come in the same steel. The standard steel is 154cm and is pretty good. My wife has the sheepsfoot blade (the one with the hole) and I must say I like hers more than mines with the drop point blade (the one with the thumb studs). If you go to benchmade.com they have a custom build-it program where you can pick your scale colors and blade type and blade steel. Here is a picture of my custom mini grip that I have. Another mini grip I HIGHLY recommend is the doug ritter mini grip from Knifeworks.com. I would rank it as my favorite.

Which blue is this on the website? Royal or light blue?

I see you already made up your mind, but I'll throw my opinion out anyway.

I prefer the thumbstud. I just find it easier to use on the mini griptilian. If you can afford it, the Ritter mini griptilian is the best way to go.

I have owned almost every conceivable variation of the Mini Griptilian and I am really liking the new 556-1 Mini Griptilian with CPM-20CV Satin Drop Point Plain Blade, Gray G10 Handles. I also prefer the thumb stud on the Mini Griptilian.

I appreciate the feedback. I agree that the Ritter looks like a very useful blade shape but ease of resharpening was a concern for me. The little feedback I got regarding this pointed me in the direction I went.
