Which Moras/Marttiinis do you all have?

I have a Clipper 860 Stainless - cost me $11.25
I have a 780 Craftsman Triflex Carbon - cost me $12.95
I look forward to taking these on my next camping trip (I only received them yesterday). No pics yet, sorry.

For those not yet blessed with a Mora:
These aren't my best knives, but they would be right up there in term of value for money. The fact is that they are good usable knives that sharpen up to 'shaving sharp' easily and the cheap handle is actually quite comfortable. The cheap sheaths work well enough and the overall value really is great.

For anyone on a tight budget I would suggest getting one or two Mora knives for the camp chores/food prep type work - they should stand up to normal use very well and do a good job for a cheap price. If you need a folder or two then go with the Opinel - the great 'value for money' folding knife. Not everyone can afford to buy the best, but these are good usable knives that almost anyone can easily afford. Even if you can afford dearer knives - these are still great knives and you can afford to use them without worrying about losing or breaking them, something that you might not have if you buy the dearest knife you can afford.

If you don't know if you would like a Mora or not - buy one and see, at that price why not?

Rupestris- What are the two blades without handles?

Those are Cobbler blades. Ragnar was selling them for around $7 ea. With a price like that, they sold out fast. He hasn't put them back on his site so I don't know that there will be any available in the near future. I only bought two and kick myself for not getting more.

This is how one of them looks now: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=603783&highlight=cobbler

Mentor posted a few of his in that thread too. He did some awesome work with his.

I suppose I should contribute an image, since I started the thread...

Those are awesome! I immediately pictured something like what you've done the moment I saw the picture. You think he'll ever have more?

Hi Scott,
Sorry to burst your bubble, it's just a regular ol' red handle, not orange. Blaze orange Mora certainly sounds like an idea though.

Marrion,

What's the third one from the top in your picture?

I have a 711, 510, a stainless 510 with a guard (can't remember the number), and a 223. I recently bought an All Around, but gave it away as a christmas gift.

Normark Eric.... Handle like a Soft Grip, Blade like a Mora 2000, but a more acute point. So discontinued. It was sitting on a shelf 10 years ago, old then. : )

I only have one, a 860 MG.

I've only had it for a couple of weeks. So far it has done kitchen duty, made some fuzz sticks, notches, pointy sticks, etc.

I think after some more playtime it will earn a place in my daybag as a backup blade.

This is my Kellam S-Line which is really made by Lauri, and which Ragweed sells as the Ahti Finman...

With one of my Custom Concealex Bushcraft Sheaths.

Here is a different image of it....

I guess they are also called the Normark Viking, after the viking on the sheath....

I was reminded of your question, when I was doing a search for other stuff, and saw that someone sold one of these on the Exchange back in July, so they are around.

I have not had any problems with the blade being soft. Good cutting tool for the money.
