I have a Clipper 860 Stainless - cost me $11.25
I have a 780 Craftsman Triflex Carbon - cost me $12.95
I look forward to taking these on my next camping trip (I only received them yesterday). No pics yet, sorry.
For those not yet blessed with a Mora:
These aren't my best knives, but they would be right up there in term of value for money. The fact is that they are good usable knives that sharpen up to 'shaving sharp' easily and the cheap handle is actually quite comfortable. The cheap sheaths work well enough and the overall value really is great.
For anyone on a tight budget I would suggest getting one or two Mora knives for the camp chores/food prep type work - they should stand up to normal use very well and do a good job for a cheap price. If you need a folder or two then go with the Opinel - the great 'value for money' folding knife. Not everyone can afford to buy the best, but these are good usable knives that almost anyone can easily afford. Even if you can afford dearer knives - these are still great knives and you can afford to use them without worrying about losing or breaking them, something that you might not have if you buy the dearest knife you can afford.
If you don't know if you would like a Mora or not - buy one and see, at that price why not?
