Where did all these Balisong people come from?

Picture seems pretty clear, by my hokey points system, the top 4 are:

Knife - Points
---------------

Balisong - 161
Paramilitary - 46
Kiwi - 30
Ronin - 23

That's cool, thanks all,

we have our haunts. We also are a very close knit family of diehard fanatics (see avatar). I'm surprised that so few of us have posted here really.

Spyderco Balis???? Where?? When?? Any Pics?? Or is this a imaginary knife?? I visited the Spyderco site to find info with no luck. Any help? Thanks

imaginary? no but it is a fairly hush hush project with only a limited number of people having seen the proto and they are sworn to secrecy (no not me). but I have faith it will happen.

Add one more to the balisong count! I'm sure you'll be changing that number quite often!

In my case I'm also a Spyderco collector, but my favorite knives are balisongs. Sal is a balisong fan too, and we were able to cajole him into making one. The original thread can be found over on the balisong forum (started by Carlos). Look around a bit, too. You won't get hooked. You could buy just one. Yeah that's the ticket, just one. :)

DaveH :

The SpyderHawk ( large merlin ;))

The Spyderfly ( butterfly knife )

SS Cricket ( in SE; due March 2003 )

AET ;)

I like the Gunting as well...

what is a balisong :footinmou (I'm just a wee bit new...only a wee bit :D )

I used to get those terms mixed up all the time too because I used to train in Wing Chun where the butterfly knives refer to a pair of broad bladed daggers. At the same time, someone decided to start referring to Balisongs generically as butterfly knives in the late 80's.

I alwayws grew up with Balisong to denote the Filipino fighting knife.
