Which Non-Tweener(s) are you most excited for??

Okay so the Tweeners seem to be getting all the hype/ love (and rightfully so), but I don't see nearly as much talk about the other 3 "new" releases due this next year.

Of course I'm talking about the Brute, Machax, and Patrol Machete.

I'm personally intrigued by the Machax and kinda wish I had a traditional Kukri to compare it too. I can't help thinking it'd make me want the Patrol Machete since it seems like the Machax's big brother. I mean, if a regular Machax is a great thing, a bigger Machax should be greater, right? Ok, I know they aren't the same but I still think it all the same.



So, which non-tweener(s) are you 'freaking out' about?

what is the one beneath the Machax and above the Brute called?

And I am most exited about either the Machax or Patrol Machete.

Clip point tweener, mini mag, and the machax will be mine right out of the gate
 
Machax for utility, Brute for cool factor. Skeptical about the dates though.
 
The Machax should release in January, the others, later, alot later. We are waiting on grind time here in the USA, where the BK1 and BK6 will be made. I wouldn't look for them until later in 2012. I would imagine Fall, with a chance of 2013. Big steel + grind time = late release. Just how it is.

But don't worry, you should see the 3 tweeners, and the Machax + 1 super secret, never mentioned knife in January, or there abouts.

And don't ask about the super secret knife, its super secret for a reason.

So the Brute and Patrol Machete are now being made in the U.S.? Sweet.
Last I knew, they were being made overseas.
I don't have much use for either of them, but am glad to hear that they will be made in the states.

Well on the positive side, that means there's another release to look forward to. Understandable too I think.

I feel like I have enough large knives for a while, so the tweeners are what I'm excited for. I did think I wanted a brute, but then heard the cost, and the fact that the 9 outchops it, I wasn't as interested.

I'm kinda excited to see what people think of the machax though. I'll have to see some reviews (preferably comparison reviews) before I jump to a conclusion on that one.

Wishing the us BH's could get super secret details... but I suppose we haven't honored the mods enough for that lately... :(

Also... since the only way to prevent our hearts from exploding is to save... can we get a ballpark number to save for?

Maybe we're finally getting a BK2 that is 8-10 in long... Re release of the BK77? A BK99?

I really wanted all 3 but then I saw the becker chop-off comparison and my desire for the brute fizzled. I still really want the partol machete, machax, bk10 and probably whatever that super-secret secret thing that's a super-secret secret. if it's sucha secret super-secret secret then why even tell us there's a secret, let alone a super-secret secret? it's not very nice...:confused:

January is a little over a month away, 2 months if you wanna count down to SHOT show. Trust me, ya'll will be the first to know.

Re-release of BK10 in 2012? This clearly missed my radar unless your talking about the BK10 LE. I'll be glad to hear it's back in production.
 
Isn't the Brute going through a redesign prior to being released by KA-BAR? I thought that was the case, and if so, then all previous performance comparisons are moot. I'm actually getting excited for the thing, because I love the fact that it's got a wide spot on the spine perfect for batoning, plus it's cool looking. Plus the Becker handle. Any chance of a hollow grind?

well, this is top secret. as in, don't even tell people ere's a secret ;) oops. THEY would be very cross and disappointed if we outright told in public fora/etc. not gunna happen. no, not in PM either :) just wait. i don't know a time table but at the same time i know that miracles occur and other antics. next week? freaking yet? good. not next week :) "soon"

and ballpark. hey, hard to tell. i'd guess towards between the BK13 and the BK77 at msrp of course. heh.

the kitchen knives. now that's another fish fry :}

surprise is good. just save. clutch your heart. eat healthy. exercise. moderate...

I wish!!! But won't hold my breath.

It would save me a ton of hassle trying to find a thicker project Cam bk9.

A 8" bk2 would not be practical but a ton of fun for chopping.:D
