Okay wait, you said they're 'in between' the BK11 and the full size Beckers but even the smallest one looks to be as big as the BK9 if not slightly larger?? Or am I missing something about the size? What are the sizes of those 3? I thought the machax had a 14" blade or something close to that?

Oh sorry, I kind of mislead you.

The photos in the OP of the thread are of the Patrol Machete, the Brute, and the machax (all full size beckers). The tweeners are the ones moose just posted, and are the "in-between" size I mentioned before.

sorry for the confusion :(.

That's the one I'm excited about.

Hmmmm, let's break this down. Moose has basically worked all the Becker knives hard, likely beyond anything we will ever do and has come to some conclusions. Unfortunately my old Brute kind of sucks in regard to chopping ability, but my tears have dried on that one. Several of the older designs are coming back with some possible improvements\modifications, Brute, Mag Camp come immediately to mind. I do believe that the old Reinhardt (sp?) Kukri was given high praise by Moose for its chopping ability. Could it make a come back ? A negating factor would be that the Patrol Machete and Machax are arrivig and filling the bigger chopper niche. But big chopper fans can never get enough big choppers............ Just speculating............ As for future\past releases I find the Patrol Machete and Machax intriguing and the mini BK-2 (Tweener) to be nirvana.
 
I know this is a non tweener thread but I saw some pictures and I'm sorry if this has already been asked but are the tweeners coming stock with jimping along the spine? If so, my excited factor went up a notch because I have too shaky of a hand for dremel work.
 
I'll buy all the tweeners the day they come out as well as a brute and a machax. Hope the "secret" Becker is something big like a damn sword. I like big blades ;)
 
well, the machax and campanion AND magnum camp are not only the oldest models, but have survived nearly 30 years... okay, there's a delay on the machax. i blame KaBar's desire for perfection and tuning that one for a while ;)

still...

several of the older models simply have not seen the light again. Reinhardt in particular (sob), and the Warrior (eh), and the BK8 never happened (yet the numbering gap), and the BK12 happened, just not in the way we thought :>

for reasons i cannot fathom, the Brute got the number 1 in the Camillus numbering scheme. pretty weird for a late comer, seeing as how it was one of the last things out of Blackjack iirc. the second to last Blackjack version was better, much like the second to last gen Machax was better. Camillus versions? eh.

the Tac/Div tools evolved quite bit. there have been some tweaks in coatings (actually having them, as opposed to plating and such), handles.

soon, we'll have the Machax back, the oldest model. the best ;)

perhaps a machax tweener? crap. i spilled the beans. oh, right, i didn't :)

but seriously, you guys had better be saving monies, or a fold in space will appear, and do something so orthogonal to your thinkings, that you'll explode.

delay as in "what is it not out NOW, or a year ago" :D

it's still on for shot show 2012. maybe sooner. possibly later. who knows. real soon now.

OK, sounds like you're not just pulling our Tweeners, I guess that this is real. Looks like Becker\Ka-Bar is on the move.
