I chose Civivi. I would have surprised myself two months ago, when I was still stuck on traditionals AND avoiding Chinese brands. I also love Spyderco, but to be honest, at the moment I’m currently blown away by the value of Civivi/We. I have only owned two and handled a few more but none were over the $100 mark, yet fit and finish were essentially flawless. I’m amazed at the competition they are bringing to the knife world. I’d be willing to bet anyone saying otherwise hasn’t experienced a “good” Civivi.

I picked spyderco as it was my first “real” knife I purchased back in the 90’s by my self. A delica. Plus can’t go wrong with them imo. Don’t carry them all the time but for this list it’s my pick.

Kershaw and ZT, simply because I have more of them than other makers. They have a good price range/selection for blades still made in the USA. If it wasn't for them I wouldn't be here, and I still like a good ZT.

Since Cold Steel isn't a choice, went with Spyderco.

Call Steel used to be my favorite two until my swift broke the spring snapped Cold Steel GSMO refuses to honor their lifetime guarantee I just purchased it February 28 of last year I will never ever purchase Cold Steel again , I own nine of them and hate to be treated this way. Spyderco now is my favorite,If you purchase a Cold Steel know if you’re purchasing a knife without any warranty whatsoever just keep that in mind. A very disappointing Cold Steel customer

I still have the Mariner and Worker I bought from Sal in 1982. Added many Spyderco’s ever since. I don’t know how he does it - but Sal Glesser makes me feel as though I am his friend. Of course he doesn’t know me - but he has taken care of my knife issues for decades. He is one of the only CEO’s I know of that will respond to me the same day. Spyderco also supports causes important to me, such as police, first responders, and others.

I still have an old Spyderco card insert on my desk… from a knife in the mid 90’s…that reads “Character is doing the right thing … even when no one is looking”. That’s a company philosophy I can really appreciate.
