Which of these Spydercos would you buy?

Delica 4 and Gayle Bradley 1. Everyone should try a Delica (or Endura, the size of which I much prefer). And the GB1 is the best dollar value knife I've ever had (design, execution and material, in a package much greater than the sum of its parts). Also, I actually love the CF/G10 scale, as it is both beautiful and nearly impervious to showing wear.

First Spyderco?

Start with a FFG Delica 4 in FRN. ZDP or VG10 (depending on your use habits and/or sharpening skills).

Save the rest (for now) to put toward a Manix 2, PM2, Sage 2, Sage 5, Domino, or one of any of the other Spydercos that will call your name over the next few weeks/months.

Sage 5 and Delica 4.

Just because I like those two and I don't like the Domino or Para 3.

The Delica is a great working knife at a low cost for dirtier jobs. Sage 5 is a nicer classy knife with great ergos and a (IMO) better profile closed and open compared to the Domino or Para 3.

The Domino can fulfil both roles though. Fancy enough to be a gentleman's knife (if abit big) but slicey and tough enough to be a good work knife. CTS-XHP is a great steel. It performs alot like a stainless D2 which is just awesome!

Another vote for the domino, I have the blue CF version and I love it. CTS XHP is great steel, and I much prefer it over s30v.

The domino is also a flipper on top of having the spidie hole. Lots of fiddle fun to be had if that's your thing. Middle finger flick perfection.

Oh yeah.. Taichung Taiwan model so it's very well made, and the stonewash is fantastic on the Ti. Only change I could ask for would be either upgraded bearings (and steel washers/liners for bearings) or phosphor bronze washers like the slysz bowie/Gayle Bradley.

Mine flips perfectly, but initially I did take it apart a few times, and it needed to go back to spyderco for new bearings/bearing seats. But if you don't take it apart or over tighten the pivot you should be golden.

I'm not a fan of the new Para 3, so for me it's Sage 5 and a Delica. I'd also look into a sharpmaker to keep them screaming sharp and hone your sharpening skills.

My vote for whatever its worth? A Delica 4 and...The most perfect knife ever manufactured by humans,, ENDURA 4.

Yo, if you are new to knives and not yet practiced at sharpening I would not get a Delica in ZDP or any other super steel. Even the CTS-XHP will not be easy to learn to sharpen on.

You might consider the Delica in VG10 which is an amazing steel in its own right and great for learning on. (Though I recommend having a junk knife to practice on first still)

If you are a gangster you could even get the waved Delica. However if you're a real triple OG then you would obviously get a waved Endura!

Domino's for sure. I had 3 of the 5 Sage's and if it wasn't for the Domino I would never have sold them. Once I got the Domino I never carried. It looks great, it feels great in the hand, it has visual presence and it feels solid in the hand. It is a tough knife with great steel and in my opinion one of the best knives that they have in their lineup. I believe that the Domino is by far the best flipper in their lineup. In reference to the price you can get pristine examples on "Bladeforum" or the other secondary market places. You can acquire them for $150 to $165. I promise you that you will not be disappointed. make sure you get it from a place that takes returns and that they don't charge a restocking fee

I d get a Delica in zdp 189 steel and a PM 2. There are reasons why these are are still the most popular Spyderco models.

I'd go Delica 4 in ZDP. For the remaining money you may want to put some nice scales and a deep carry clip on there and you'll have something that's (imo) pretty close to a perfect EDC.

If I had to choose from your options I'd go Sage+Delica as I don't think too dearly of the PM3(PM2 is great tho, especially if you can get one in M4 :D ) and wouldn't want a domino since my experience with Spyderco flippers has been pretty flawed.

Agree on delica / para 2 - but m4 has rusted faster than 1095 here on the wet side of the pacific nw and rust here nothing compare to the eastern parts of the US. M 4 PM 2 is the only knife I have that forms rust just sitting. 1st time I have had rusty finger prints show up. Comes off easy enough and more oil should slow it down, but not my 1st or 2nd choice. The s30vn s35vn and 110 are all great.

But try to get your hands on some and see what feels right. I like the PM2 and delica handle and blade shapes, do not care for the manix I have. Sages are nice, make sure you like the blade shape. Not very "pointy."

I had a Domino, it was a Spyderco grail but once in hand, I didn't really care for it. Ergos weren't great for my large hands.

I'd suggest two blades in different sizes. Para 2 and a Delicia would give you two different blade sizes and more versatility.
