Well, the title says it all. Which of you traditional knives will you be using to cut open all of those boxes, blister pack, ect. this Christmas? I was going to go with my Opinel #7, but seeing as how I'm sure to be putting batteries in my son's new toys, I'll probably go with my Victorinox soldier. The two driver bits are sure to come in handy. For any smaller screws, my Leatherman micra will take over.

Pretty sure I will be using this

My loyal scagel fruitport. Had it since last Christmas and it only seems right to give her the honour :)

Probably my Victorinox Classic. I have found, out of ALL my knives/multitools, it is the best Christmas knife around. A knife blade and scissors, to handle any cutting need, a small screwdriver, to open compartments and install any batteries, and a cute little, globally recognizable shield on the handle, which almost guarantees it will be admired and accepted. I love that little thing. Merry Christmas, ya'll.

Awesome thread...I was thinking this morning as to which one will be on duty...I think its this beautiful red boned Case, born the same year as I :)

I'll use my Case peanut for most of the box opening. However, as I have young kids my small wire cutters will also be in reach. Those darn kids toys and all those wire ties.

I'm going with a lockback, as it gets passed around and some people don't know how to use a slipjoint without closing the blade down. The last thing I want on Christmas eve opening presents is family drama ("I sure hope you didn't need that fingertip!").

I'll be using the black Case Texas Jack that my wife gave me yesterday. I'm glad she can never make it to Christmas without opening a couple gifts early. :)
