Which of you knive will be on gift opening duty this Christmas?

Another vote for the GEC Conductor :) Once my sons' presents are open though they may be pressed into service. My older son has an Official Boy Scout camp knife from me, and my younger son finally gets a SAK, the large handled BSA Adventurer

I don't know if I'll need a knife to open presents. I like to franticly tear off the paper like a 5 year old child at Christmas. :D But I used a Ken Erickson whittler to wrap gifts for my favorite girls.

This Christmas I'll be making good use of all the features on this year's forum knife. From opening gifts to cracking the caps off some nice imported ale, this little beauty can do it all. It's been riding well in the watch pocket of my jeans and has proved to be a helluva great little companion.

Well, I'm at the in laws and just used my chestnut bone peanut to cut the tape off on my boys gifts, and the micras scissors made short work of the twist ties. These two are doing such a good job,I may have to deviate from my plan to carry the Vic soldier tomorrow

Ok, I'm a little jealous. The color of the handle on that one looks so much nicer in person.

Buck 309 (Companion I think it's called) from 1987 for me. PC enough for the extended family.

I'm going to use this small Trapper made by Joel Chamblin. I've posted this pic before but here it is again.

I got a dark red bone cv peanut from my parents and it did all the work (we open all our presents on Christmas eve)

Leatherman Juice S2. Wire cutters to cut that almost indestructible toy packaging and the screw driver to install numerous batteries.

It'll likely be either my usual 24/7 pocket EDC - a BM 755 MPR, recently resharpened, or a ZT-0551, in my pocket when I arrive at the in-laws this AM for present exchanges. If I could remember to get it out, a basic Buck 110 has definite advantages - it's thin edge and hollow grind make quick work of blister packs, large boxes, etc - and it'll re-edge easily, should an error occur. I'll leave the good knives home... don't want my 'show-offs' to actually get used! Seriously, a decent knife - not your finest or hardest to open/close - would seem appropriate if you must open a mix of goodies.

Merry Christmas!

I've been using my little custom saddlehorn with a clip point blade. It is the makers first attempt at a slipjoint, and while it is a little raw, it is a good worker.

Victorinox Compact. Blade & scissors were handy for opening the pesky stuff, & the bottle opener was handy later ;)

I ended up using the peanut long enough to open up a Buck 55, then I used that.
Got family gatherings tomorrow and Tuesday too, prolly gonna use my 55 until something else gets sliced out of its wrapping paper prison.

Case slimline trapper. Worked great, even on tough clamshells. Wished I had a leatherman for all the kid's wire ties and because one toy needed an eyeglass sized phillips for installing batteries.

I used a good ol' Buck 301, I used it in honor of a good friend who is stepping away from knives for a while.
It's been a tradition for me to retire the knife I use for Christmas and use one of the new ones, so I'm EDCing the knives I got this year.
