Which of your slippies get the most pocket time?

HUMMMMMM this maybe

Well, we have a huge thread about the knives our members are carrying on a daily basis but if you're asking which knife gets the most carry time...for me of late it's this 3.75" stockman by Ken Erickson:

When the weather turns foul or I have dirty jobs to do around the property I normally swap out for a Buck 301.

WOW Blues, this knife is awesome. A lot of the customs I see are a little too fancy looking for my taste, but this one one is just perfect. Very subtle and classy looking.

For me its the trusty Schrade Walden 34OT. Definitely not my prettiest knife, but it's never let me down.

All time pocket Champion: Victorinox Alox Soldier.
Past 2 months: Case Swayback Jack CV and Queen Gunstock D2 (which my brother got me) combo.

Queen Small Dan Burke is also one of the most carried slipjoints I have... Though GEC #66 Ebony Calf Roper and #61 Congress get alot pocket time aswell.

I've been packing this one a lot as of late.

But, this one has really impressed me and I don't see it leaving the pocket any time soon.

Thank you for those good words.

This knife has been through a few changes since it was born. It first had dark brown jigged bone scales which were later changed to a deep maroon G-10 after Ken got it back to do a little tuning up. Marrying the G-10 scales with a virtually bulletproof integral frame and CPM-154 blades just makes for a knife one has little or no excuse keeping out of the pocket, especially since it incorporates my favorite three blade profiles for a stockman. Thanks again for your comments, they are appreciated.

The ever present Alox Classic on my key ring and my Chestnut Bone Peanut together with my Alox Bantam.

A Case peanut. I also carry a huge one handed AO opener sometimes, which really isn't bad in the pocket, but I sometimes prefer to carry my peanut and nothing else. I have been getting some great use out of my Queen DB small barlow, and usually have my Victorinox farmer or pioneer on me.

Is this restricted to slip joints, or can it be expanded to any traditional pocket knife?

My most frequently carried pocket knife is a lock-back; a carbon bladed Schrade Old Timer 5OT with green saw cut Derlin scales and a brass bolster. The knife is thin enough to disappear in the pocket. By far the most comfortable carrying knife I have. The handle is long enough to fit in the hand well and the lock back is very secure.

This is not my knife, but mine looks just like it, only with a shiny blade.

I carry an Opinel #8 quite often. And my most commonly carried slip joint is an Ulster 4 blade camper. Really love the camper emotionally but, day-in/day-out, the 5OT gets the pick.

Most of the time it's one of these four.... and I carry my Case
Swayback Jack with one of these everyday...

These are my most frequent over the last couple of years, although there have been at least a dozen more with some pocket time.

I'm kind of fickle when it comes to long term carry of just one knife but I find that my John Lloyd Texas Jack has been getting a lot of pocket time.
It's nice to EDC a custom and not hesitate to use it.

Despite having just bought a Case 3347 Stockman that I really like alot, I find myself carrying this Post 2004 Schrade Fire & Ice Black Pick Bone Trapper.

I know folks get tired of seeing this thing, but since I got it last year, it has been in my pocket many more times than any other slippie I own. It's big enough for most everyday tasks and very unobtrusive in the pocket. It's good enough that it has set my mind at ease with Case's Tru-Sharp stainless. This knife has been mostly responsible for me leaving my more 'modern' knives in the drawer. Since I bought it, I have not seen another with amber bone scales.

In fact, I used it today to open the package that my new Keith Johnson jack knife came in.

As of lately my most frequently carried have been my Buck 301, 3 blade Rough Rider Congress, and my Kissing Crane/ Robert Klaas Brown Mule Sodbuster.

I carry two knives all day every day. Large Sebenza in a sheath on my belt and my Case Bros Sowbelly in my pocket.

Hi Ozark -

It is not pretty, but I NEVER leave the house without this Victorinox Waiter -

I have many other knives, and I often rotate in a traditional along with the Waiter, but more often I have a one-handed opener clipped to my other pocket.

best regards -

Lately it's been my Camillus "whittler" (more a stockman with whittler blades than an actual whittler) in yellow delrin since the blades are stainless. The humid monsoon season is nearly over, so soon it'll be back to my Case 6332/
