You`re stuck on an island or in a dressed evening party which one do you choose ? ;)
The Rift, played with one in a store the other day and it solid with nice ergo's at least for me and I have medium sized hands. I ended up getting the 0462 with red carbon fiber front scale because it looked stabyer to me plus I bonded with it when it made me bleed at the counter. It was love at first slice but the Rift will be my next Bench Made.

After owning three of em...the Rift. Does it defy logic? Maybe. Not the best EDC out there? Sure. Could it have some jimping, skeletonized liners, more colors & upgraded steel? You betcha. Oh but the way it feels in my hand. This time, I'm gonna make it perfect. Ok, I'll just add some jimping, a few holes in the liners & dye tha sucka. Close enough.

I know :), love at first strike.

I had a 530(the grivory version of the 531) but got rid of it, too small and lightweight.
These two knives are apples and oranges although I voted for the rift.

531. I prefer the green version from REI though.

Rift! I've had this one for about a dozen years & it's still going strong. I liked it so much that I bought one with a non-serrated blade too.

I did not prefer either. I'd recommend the bugout instead of the 531 and I really do not like the grip on the rift at all either. The mini Loco I prefered better than the rift (full Loco was just way too heavy). The contego also decent but too many hot spots. The grip could use major improvements.

. The Rift is a bigger knife that may appear to be more rugged but I question that as their construction is very similar.
Similar how? Just the inclusion of steel liners makes them very dissimilar. Blade thickness, thickness overall. I'm not seeing any similarities besides scale color.

I have owned the 531 but I had the 530. I found it too thin, especially when trying to manipulate the axis lock. Maybe that is different on the 531.

I don't own either knife anymore. I liked the 810 more than the 950 so that is the one I still have. Didn't see the point of owning both.

If you are looking for more pocket friendly, then the 531 fits the bill. Carries very well.

It's remarkably tough for its size and weight, and is comfortable to use. Great blade shape.

I gave away my last one after the Bugout came out, however.

Oh that little Axis doesn’t have full steel liners? Sorry my memory tricked me. For some reason I thought I remembered it did. i’ve never owned one only considered them at my local store.

Even still I would rather own the Axis.
