Which one of these knife photos do you like?

I took a few photos of this knife before I ship it out and narrowed it down to these three. Which one do you like the best, which one do you like the least, unfortunately trashing all of them and starting over isn't one of the options :D

There's something in each photo that I like so it's hard for me to choose just one. The photo will be used in a brochure and an album of my knives that I just started. It would be helpful if you would tell me why you like or dislike a photo because I'm trying to improve my photography.

Thanks,
Dave

The first pic,IMO,shows the figure in the wood better.:)
Nice hamon. :D

Photo number two emphasizes details through color contrast and is my favorite hands down. BTW nice knife sir!!!

In order of preference: #3, #2, #1.

#1's background is too busy for me. Too much competition.

#2 is a study in color contrasts and enhances the handle. For me, it looks a little too stark. (I should talk....)

#3 is a study in complimentary colors and looks warm in a familiar surrounding.

Very subjective thoughts. What is VERY apparent is you are thinking and experimenting. In all three cases your photo quality is superb.

Nice going!

Like Coop said, #1 is too busy. #2 is interesting, but I think it over emphasizes the handle at the expense of the blade. #3 shows everything off nicely in a setting that seems very appropriate to the knife (nice knife, by the way).

I've gotta agree with my buddy, the Bird of Leather, on this one. The first pic seems to show everything best, IMO.

I like #3 because I feel like I can actually look around the edges and see under the knife. Probably more lighting than background contrast. However the knife looks at home in #3. All have appeal in one way or another.

#1 the backround competes some with the handle.
#2 the dividing line is didtracting it cuts the knife in half, the colors are stark.
#3 the backround is perfect. It;s the knife that is important and it stands out.

Thank you for the opinions!! It's helped me understand what I liked and didn't like about each photo.

I liked how the blade came out in the first photo but thought the handle got lost in the background.

I liked the outline or profile of the knife and the softness of the second photo but didn't like what the background did to the blade.

I liked the overall feel of the knife with the background in photo three but the lighting was a little off and the blade tip got lost in the lighter weathered boards.

Too many choices is not a good thing for me but here's a couple more after adjusting the lighting and switching the boards around. My wife says I analyse too much but I don't agree with her :D
