Feeling a bit bored and want to get something new today. I picked up few mora's this morning and decided a Ti folder would be good also. I really want the zt 0055 but, who knows when thats coming out. My favorite knife is the dragonfly and ideally like smaller knives or larger knives so the 3" knife size typically doesnt get pocket time.

For the longest time CR knives seemed pointless to me and outdated but, the more I look the more curious I become to try one out.

Let me know what you guys would buy.

1. Spyderco Techno
2. Spyderco Slysz bowie
3. Sebenza 21 large insingo
4. Sebenza 21 small insingo
5 wait for the ZT 0055
6. or suggest something i need!

Not that price is a factor but here's the current deals i found on each Techno $178, Bowie $299, used seb 21 large $320, Seb 21 small $350 new

Id probably narrow it down to the Small 21 or the Techno personally I think I would lean toward the Techno but Id just try and get them both in hand and see which you end up preferring.

Small 21 insingo (micarta inlay if possible). If it isn't for you, you can sell it and recoup most, if not all of your funds.
They are one of the safer bets in the knife world.

The slight difference between the stock and micarta is just hand filing enough to notice. Definitely a plus.

The Small 21 is just such a great knife for EDC. If you haven't tried one yet you owe it to yourself. I find the small 21 perfect and the small Inkosi a bit too small.

The Large is good if you like something bigger for EDC. It doesn't just dissapear in your pocket like the small.

Those Spydercos are amazing knives in their own right. I especially love the Techno and in many ways consider it a good competition for the small 21.

Still I would take the CRKs over the Spydies. Not that the Spydies aren't great.

Not a titanium framelock but do you have a chaparral? If you like the dragonfly you might love a chaparral. Several different versions available with different materials and price points. I like mine better than my dragonfly.

I voted small 21. I think its the perfect EDC with the insingo blade! Cannot speak for the others execpt the large 21 and imo its too big unless you need the extra blade length

I would go for the Spyderco Slysz bowie but if I ever purchase one I would get it anodized.

lots of votes for the larger knives but, all the comment suggest going with the smaller ones.
Ideally I was thinking go with a used sebenza so I could most likely get my money back if I didn't want to keep it. The spyderco I could get new and return it if I hated it for some reason...Most of you make a good point I dont really need a big knife and I dont really consider a Sebenza something I would use in mortal combat... :-)

Out of those four choices I'd get the lg inkosi insingo with micarta inlays:D or carbon fiber.

I already own the bowie and LG 21 micarta insingo, and I'd say the 21 is slightly favored over the bowie. I carry my CRK literally every day, and the bowie gets carried a few times per month. Both are fantastic folders.

Small ones too small for me, tried a techno on and it was a no go. Same with sm 21.

Wait for the 0055, then decide. It's either going to be pure gimmick or pure awesome. It's supposed to be dropping soon, right?

If you can't wait, go small 21 if you want unobtrusive carry, great utility, and subdued sophistication.

I think the Large 21 is amazing. If you use a knife frequently or for heavier tasks, it's a good choice.

The SB is a great knife, and I can appreciate why people love it. It's probably a happy medium between the Lg & Sm 21. It would be a logical choice for you. However, every time I get one in hand, I realize it's jut not for me. I haven't figured out why. I check it out every time I visit a dealer.

Techno is stubby and fat--and therefore a bit heavy for the length of blade. If that's your thing, go for it. I roll a 0900 when I need to scratch that itch. I'm waiting for the rumored Techno 2, btw (with fingers crossed).

Wait for the 0055, then decide.

All good comments, thanks for the advice. I want that 0055 it fills the "oh I dont have one of those type" neich in my collection. Its also cool looking and innovative all wins.... and its cheap $220 for that knife is a steal considering the customs go for $5k.
Seeing as the sebenza is such a main stay in the knife community I find it harder and harder to not want to try one out. Best of all its easy to sell because people love them. Granted the spydercos are also pretty popular and I love spyderco... I just am thinking now maybe its better to get the seb instead of a knife that somewhat resembles the seb. And again, if I don't like it. easy to sell.

I was reading on the spyderco forums Sal (or Eric...) said they Techno 1 was selling so well they were not sure when they new version of the techno would be out. People said it may be slightly longer and thinner its mostly rumors but, I am excited to see what the new designs like.

I have what feel like forever waiting for the 0055. All their other models came out except the super cool one that I preordered the day it came out. I got this PP money burning a hole in my pocket. I think Ill get the 0055 and dare I say it. A small sebenza even though I dont like 3" bladed knives. Logic check a larger knife I like because I go "ill never actually use this to fight with but, hey if all else fails its better than nothing". Totally illogical cause I dont plan on using my knife for self defense or anything like that. I have had some training but, would rather use pepper spray or side arm. Yet no matter how illogical I cant get that idea out of my head. So for EDC knife smaller would be idea and I dont think the extra weight on the large would make it in the pocket as much. If I was to carry a big knife it would be something a tad more traction oriented like a wave endura or a cold steel broken stull ( which I thought was total crap until I bought it then I actually loved it ).

SO decision made. Ill get the 0055 when its out. and buy a used Small sebenza once I find a good one. Might throw some more knives up for sale as to not crowd the collection. Trying to keep it under 50 knives. To many things to choose from is never good.
Thanks again!
