which one to get bk2 bk7 or bk9

bk5. If the bk2 is the duct tape of knives, the bk5 is the wd-40

Another vote for the BK-2. I just got mine and have the 9, too. I like my 9 better, but for an all-around knife, the 2 carries more easily and can do 90% or better of the big knife stuff the BK-9 can, and may do smaller tasks better.

Only one? Get the BK2. I use the crap out of my BK9 but BK2 is more of an all-arounder in my opinion...

The BK2 is the duct tape of knives. If you have it with you, you can do anything.

Another vote for the BK-2. I just got mine and have the 9, too. I like my 9 better, but for an all-around knife, the 2 carries more easily and can do 90% or better of the big knife stuff the BK-9 can, and may do smaller tasks better.

What they said.

Just my opinion, I do own the 2, 7, 9, and the 10 as far as the full size Beckers go. My two favorites are the 2 or the 7. I want to reccomend the 2 cause it is the knife I used the last two trips to the woods. Whichever one I used last is usually the one I'm in love with at the current time. 2 or the 7 would be my choice, oh yeah the 9 ain't no slouch. Good luck, great blades, great value at twice the price, get em all.

I think if you want only one knife I'd go with the 2, but the 5 Clich mentioned would be a strong contender as well.

Now I've never skinned anything other than a rotisserie chicken, but I don't think the 2, 7, or 9 would be my first choice. So if you're gonna have a second knife anyway, I think you'd be happy with the BK9 paired with the 11/14/Izula II/SAK/Buck 110/etc... you pick. I'm partial to the Izula II, but really whatever smaller knife you like will work.

Let's face it Buckmaster--you're going to wind up with all of them. You have no choice. The Beckers will call to you until you answer them.

I agree with previous posters: BK-2 or BK-5 if your planning on getting just one; the 9/11 combo for a good basic survival set. BK-9 + BK-11 + BK-16 (when they come out) for the ultimate woodsman's set.

Or maybe a BK-11 or 14 + Machax + BK-15 for a survival set.

Or possibly a BK-7 + BK-10 (if you can find one) + BK-17 for a decent survival/fighting set.

Or how's about a BK-2 + BK-9 + Machax for the ultimate wood processing set?

Or try out a BK-13 + BK-14 + BK-17 for a good urban EDC set.

The possibilities are endless, really, which is why you need to get them all, so you have options.:D ;)

i think i will just bow down and get the 9 and the 2 and make micarta for em then when the handles for the bk14-eskabar come out i will get that, and maby one of the tweeners, dont know about the machax yet will have to see, mabye on one of the passarounds or somethin. if i had about 1000 dollars i would get a bk2, 3,5,7,8(if i could find one),9,10,11,13,14,all of the tweeners in april, the machax, bk77, and whatever the "secret" kabar is.

Guess I will be in the minority here and say the 7. She is my fav and 1st choice when I'm outdoors. I actually didn't care for the 2 I had. I've used the 7 for everything you mentioned, are there better tools for the job? Sure, but the 7 does them all in one package. You can do most things with either just need to practice.
