Which one would y'all pick?

Having handled both, no question. Pm2. 943 is a nice to have. Pm2 has been my edc ever since I got it. Just slices better than all my others. Great knife

Benchmade 943.

I bought a Para 2 a few years ago and it was so poorly made that the clip screws fell out of the handle in transit. They were in such demand then that it would've been a few months before the dealer got any more in to replace it. Called Spyderco and they wanted me to ship it on my dime and enclose a check for return shipping. When I told them they shouldn't have ever let that knife leave their factory they accused the dealer (Knife Center of the Internet) of messing up the knife. In the end they made it right but they were such jerks about it that I hated the knife and sold it at a loss. Every Spyderco I've tried since then that has G10 over metal liners has had screws that are a mm or so too short to fully thread into the liners. I fixed one with screws from a Benchmade and even offered to send it to Spyderco with both sets of screws as proof, but they said it wasn't necessary because they knew there was nothing wrong with their screws.

Spyderco has some really cool designs, but their customer service MO is to blame the customer and blame the dealer.

Ok, thanks for the advice and opinions. Just gotta ask due to I've never held a pm2, what's the lore with this thing? Does it just perform this well and is that well constructed? Just curious. Thanks again, the knowledge here is quite impressive.

PM2 would be my choice too. IMHO, the allure of the PM2 is, many knives are specialized tools, some are for work, some are built for bushcraft, some are designed for fighting/combat. The PM2, for me at least, fills a very unpretentious role of being a very good, very high quality cutting tool for anything that the average person encounters during their day. You won't baton through a hickory log, and you probably can't chop your way out of a burning Blackhawk with it, but for breaking down boxes, cutting food, cutting rope, webbing, or scoring Sheetrock for example, it does better than most. Just my .02, anyone feel free to disagree......

The PM2 is very popular, I would think most people would select it.
I own 2 of them right now and have owned several more in the past. At one time I was interested in the 943 but somehow I got the idea that it was smaller than what I wanted. I have never actually handled one, and now when I look up the specs it seems closer to the PM2 than I remembered.

I think a person would do well with either knife.

I've owned both and the 943 is thinner I think looks better but for lighter tasks. But the PM2 is a little thicker and for more heavy duty cutting.

Paramilitary 2 for sure, in any of its configurations. It's the perfect EDC. Wicked ergonomics, strong lock, and most importantly an amazing slicer of a blade!
