Which one would you choose?

me too. it is my first choice. chopping is fun, but when i really need a knife i prefer it to be of the medium sized variety.

I can totally understand your point of view. I too would much rather have a medium sized knife if it can do everything I need it to do. But since OTE said that I can only have 1 knife then I want it to be able to do everything that I may forsee needing a knife for. In most case I probably wouldn't need a BM size blade in a urban setting. But in a SHTF scenario then chopping ability would be pretty high up on my list because I would need it to efficiently build shelter, clear trails, and make fire out in the boonies. A BM can also double as a very formidable weapon in case I don't have a firearm.
