Hi guys,
Im recently facing a huge dilemma. Ive had this Herman Micro Sting for about half a year and have been liking it a lot. A few weeks ago i picked up the box elder small sebenza 31 and same result.
I honestly dont need them both and im having a hard time deciding which one to sell. When im hadling one im like yea this one is staying no way im selling it and then i handle the other and feel the same.
The sebenza feels so good, robust and utilitarian and the Herman feels so smooth, sweet and very nicely done.
What would you do?

That's a tough one. can't tell ya which...you're gonna have to decide that. I'd say whichever you tend to carry and use more should have more staying potential.....

If it's not a financial situation pushing this decision, I'd keep them both. Don't cha know that as soon as you get rid of either one you'll be kicking yourself for not keeping both. Need shouldn't play into it.

Nice knives.

Personal preference aside;

You have had some time with the Sting, and only recently purchased the Sebenza.

Sell the Herman and try out your new knife.

Life is a bit more fun with more experiences.

Which one makes you smile the moment you pick it up? That's usually how I decide the way forward when thinning the herd.
Ive been carrying both lately for about the same amount of days. As i mentioned there are days that i feel like the Sebenza is the one and days when i feel that the Herman is the one. None of them is sitting on the pouch/box.

that just makes it tougher. as said already, unless ya need the money..maybe keep both then....

The thing with the Herman is there have been quite some moments where ive been about to sell it but i always end up cancelling it. It feels so sweet and special if that makes sense.

As said if it isn't being driven as a financial decision keep them both, sounds like you will regret selling off one of them.

Carry one for certain settings and alternate based on the anticipated uses you foresee for the day ahead.

I'd keep the Sebenza.
I thought I was the only crazy one who thought like this. ;)
I often do the mental gymnastics of only keeping "one."
If you're anything like me, justifying keeping the CRK would be easier!

Might do that. I dont need the money but ive always keep just one "expensive" knife until now. I feel like i dont need more than one.
maybe just keep both for awhile and see if down the road one fades on you then.......and choice becomes more obvious.

If you are selling it just because you feel you don't need both then simple, just keep the one that you like more. But if you are selling it with the notion that you might want to buy it again one day, as much as it pains me, I'd say sell the CRK.

2 or 3 years from now if you decided to buy one again, the CRK wouldn't be that hard to source, hell it may still be in production. But the Herman, not so much. Imo, ymmv, etc..

Yeah the Herman feels really special. I waited quite a lot till they released a combo that i liked. And got it quite cheaper than what they go for now. For the sebenza I had a plain one a while ago and sold it and here we are so...

I’m in keep both camp but will say, in 20 years of nice knives, the Sebenza is always the one that finds its way back into my pocket. I’ll stray from time to time but there is something about a Sebenza that is completely unrivaled in my use

I would probably try to keep both if it was me. They’re gorgeous.

Alternatively, could you sell two or three other knives instead of one of these?
Not really. The other 2-3 knives that i have are gifts and not valuable at all.

I agree with that. It is probabbly the better knife but sometimes it feels like it is "everybodys" knife while the Herman feels more like "my knife"
