Recommendation? Which one

Opening is not important for me at all. I mean the reason of picking the bm2 or the Benchmade over the other wont be the opening.

Ok, I'll stick with my original suggestion then. The Lionsteel BM2. Great company and materials, classy look, and the traditional looking knife will get less stares from onlookers in Europe I would guess. It also happens to be one of the cheaper knives listed.

For the money, I'm not sure Viper, Fox, or MKM will beat that Lionsteel and those materials.

Good luck!

Lionsteel. My opinion of Benchmade is that their MSRP is... optimistic. I'd guess that 9 out of 10 people who get a Bugout end up swapping for a pair of custom scales, which is, what? Another 30% to 50% more cost?

If you want a 'Grip, go look at the Hogue/Ritter RSK.

Hopefully after two pages, somebody has already made these suggestions. I didn't read.

I’d always go for plain Jane Grip, especially with the new S30V they put on it now. Workhorse.
I agree, the Ritter is the better Grip.

...I think Im rushing it and thats a mistake. Hearing reading and finding new good options almost everyday. Started with Lionsteel BM, then Bugout and Grip and now also hogue and ritter recommended by another member seem to be another great option.

May i ask you if you have owned any benchmade hogue ritter and lionsteel? I ask that because ive read some ppl complaning about liosnteel m390 steel. Other ppl have also experienced some issues with unmodded bugouts/grips.

I've had a Mini-Grip for... almost twenty years now, so my idea of a "reasonable" price is probably warped by the "back in my day" phenomenon.

Never had any experience with Lionsteel, haven't been able to talk myself into one.

Part of the problem is that we have a very large community of enthusiasts, and these are production knives. There are going to be problems that slip through quality control, and it is in the nature of the internet to make bad things seem bigger than they are. I would want to know a lot more information about these problems with m390 before I believe that they are worth avoiding.

I think the Bugout and Grip are perfectly acceptable knives, it's just that I also think better alternatives exist. Doug Ritter does good work, and sales of the RSK support him. Hogue is an American company with at least as good a reputation and manufacturing process as Benchmade. Add those together, and my opinion is that the RSK is the "better" knife, not so much because of what it is, but because of where it comes from.

Lionsteel is in roughly the same price range as Benchmade, although they seem to be aiming at a slightly different demographic. I like their designs better, that's all.

Does your opinion on Hogue apply for other models like the Hogue Deka? It is in the same price range than the Lionsteel, Benchmades and the RSK.

Ive been looking for a EDC knife for regular use. Have selected Lionsteel BM2 , Benchmade Mini Grip, Benchmade Mini Bugout. Are these good options or should i go for a different model? Cheaper ones are welcome. My requierements are the following:
Good overall blade
Not too big and confortable to wear
No tactical lookings like the spydercos
Gonna put details of the ones i mentioned.
Lionsteel BM2 CF (M349 Steel) 144.95€
Benchmade Mini Grip (CPM-20cv steel 59-61HRC) 216,95 €
Benchmade MIni Grip (S30V 58-60 HRC) 143.95 €
Benchmade Mini Bugout CF Elite (S30V 58-60 HRC) 152.95€
all decent choices. I have the mini bugout CF Elite and it's surprisingly solid but it is smaller than the mini grip. If you like the CF Elite look, there is a regular size version. The bugout overall is very slim and light. The 20cv steel is probably the best choice in my opinion but I've never owned a grip or mini grip. If I may suggest a little upgrade the 535bk-4 bugout is worth a look. great steel great action and the sunburst pattern on the aluminum scales is superb.

If you do not own a PM2 I would start there! It’s the most popular knife ever. Lots of pimping on the market too!

Yes, but it's just an opinion, because I've never had anything from Hogue.

I have not made a decision yet because im reading and watching some reviews on the hogue deka and it seems to be a great option too.

Hello everyone and sorry for so many questions about this knife decision. Today ive been able to see both the mini griptilian and the mini bugout and they did not fit my tastes at all. The grip was really field looking and feeling for me. Talking about the mini bugout they didnt have the cf elite black version and the others didint appeal to me.
The one that caught my eye was the mini osborne because it was surprisingly confortable (my hand is pretty small) and I absolutely loved the look of it. The only thing i didint like was the clip but they had a replacement one for around 15€. The thing is that the price here in Spain is 200€ and it has the same steel (s30v) as the cheaper bugout and grip.
The other option i liked due to reviews and recomendations was the hogue deka (have not seen it in person) which is around 180-200€ and uses a 20cv blade.
Aesthetically i absolutely love the mini osborne but it looks overpriced. The Deka looks more like a field knife but the quality seems to be really high.
The guy who served me in the store also told me that each brands steel is different from the same steel from other brands.
Could you guys give me your opinion about the steels and the value rating of this ones at that price? Also about the durability of the knife (not just the blade)
Thank you
