Cheese and chalk........
A mini-trapper and whittler are so different!
Do you already have a Whittler or a mini-trapper?
If so go with the one you do not have.
Then choice between the Burke/Queen and the Queen SFO carbon is really hard.
I have a stockman and 1/2 Whittler by Burke/Queen and they are very good quality with a good Sandvik steel, but will not patina.
I am not fond of the blades on the mini trapper being the same length, I much prefer a dogleg jack. And do not find the long spey of that useful, not quite long enough for food prep.
I have a Queen CSB Whittler. The main blade is quite thick and the smaller blades are like scalpes.
I prefer the Whittler as a knife because of the very stout main blade and the very different shape blades.
But on the other hand, the Queen SFO will not be around for long......
