which one

I prefer the 6 as well. You probably could'nt go wrong with any of them though.

hmmmmmmmmmm too close to call at this point boys. good arguments for both blades. i will probably end up getting more esee steel in the future but for now just need something to strap to my belt when hunting/camping/quading. is the 6 cumbersome when field dressing deer? i will probably be close to an axe on most of these adventures. they both look ridiculously cool!!

The 4 is a stunning all rounder and def a go to blade. if you want to carry EDC I would advise the 3 or izula!

I started with a 4 and totally love it :D Great allround-workhorse!
The Izzy is somewhere between the US and me, a 6 is planned for the near future :)

You should accept the fact that most of us end with a whole variety of ESEE knifes :thumbup:

The 6 is way more blade than I want for field dressing deer. I used my 3MIL this past year.

Check out my size comparison in this thread. I even mention the dimensions of my hands for you to compare.

I love the Izula and have been using that to field dress, however, I think the 3 might be the best "all around" blade in my opinion. I prefer a smaller blade though.

Get the 4..... the 6 will follow.... or the 5 ...... and Izula will be for EDC..... 3.... next hmmm.... or just a variation of of the numbers. I spent some money on some more expensive knives and I like them fine but I think I will be better served with a couple more ESEE's. Izula II is going to be my next purchase....

guesstimated usage in my case

field dressing large game like deer, moose 50%
general camping,quading companion 35%
drooling on it and waving it around the house 10%
wood prep 5%

I prefer the 6 more all around. Either would do the trick just fine, but the 6 feels more natural in the hand to me no matter the task.

Go easy on the guy - he's only asking which to buy FIRST - we ALL know he'll get the rest of them later on... :-)
