Ok so I just picked up my bedside knife yesterday. A Chris Reeves Pacific knife. Now I'm looking for a good open carry tactical folding knife. What should I get guys preferably looking for the sharpest blade. And the blade length to be between 3.5 to 4.25 inches.... Let me know guys....

Open carry or concealed?
Your post says one thing and the title says another.

Sharpness comes down to You. I have never been satisfied with a factory edge, hell I even touch up my customs.

For the coin your willing to spend you can go custom and get Exactly what you want or a few knives to see how You like how they handle.

I may not like the same knives in hand as you, if that is the case I would not:
A: want to spend that much to find that out
B: would not trust it if I needed to use it for anything other than work, and even then I would rather be comfortable with the tool than not
C: Can you sharpen a knife?
D: What do you plan on using the knife for?
(This will tell us whether an Emerson or ZT/Emerson might fit you better than a Kerambit)
E: Do you have much experience with knives?

I'm new to knives. You could say I transitioned from guns to knives. As of now I'm thinking either Spartan, Chris reeves sebenza and or possibly rockstead. Any thoughts? With the Rockstead if I can get the approval from the wife then I'll spend the extra money.

For open carry you should at least consider a fixed blade, a bit faster to deploy. A folder requires two steps, pull it from the sheath, and manipulate the opening. A fixed blade is just one step, pull it from the sheath it's good to go. The only fixed blade I would spend $500 on would be a Randall Made, as I could always get a full return on my investment.

...Not to stray from the op's thread question, but I'm sure that most will agree that the deployment
steps referred to above, can also be reversed, thus making the folder a 'one step' deploy with the
Emerson Wave feature, as well as many fixed blade sheaths will have a snap / other retention
added to keep the blade secure, which would add the second step to deploy the fixed blade knife.
Ofcourse, depending on the sheath design, it may or may not allow for a secure 'hold' of the knife,
without using the intended snap strap(s)....Just my thoughts regarding the deployment comment.
As for advice on the knife you are looking for, I would provide as many details as you can think
of to add to your original post, and let the Expertise of the very knowledgable members offer you
some good, solid advice for your upcoming purchase. Happy Hunting :)....B.T.B.
