Which pocket clip for small Sebbie?

Hi, folks,
I have a (trade) small Seb coming in the mail, and it has no pocket clip; just the clip insert. It does have a leather pocket case, which I probably won't use. The recent owner of this fine folder said that he has lost perhaps 5 or 6 small Sebbies due to the use of a pocket clip, and so he doesn't use one.
I am used to carrying a large Sebbie and always with a factory pocket-clip. I've never had even a hint of losing one. I always wear a Levi-type denim pants.
So what do you guys use for a clip for the SMALL Seb? The factory one? One of those custom jobs? I need some help here. This Seb has some fancy wood and I surely don't wish to lose it.
I'd appreciate your help and suggestions. Thank you all in advance.

Factory clip. Its the best clip I've ever used.
I don't see how the guy has lost 5 or 6. That sounds very odd.

I prefer a clip insert on a small. If it's that box elder, I'd keep it in the sheath in pocket.
I'm going to start following your friend around with a metal detector...

Coincidentally, I pmed CRK today about a pocket clip too.
Turn out it's 15 buck including the clip screw + shipping.

Figured I'd share that unrequested tidbit of information with you. THAT, at least, was free. :D

Thanks to all for your suggestions. And Turbo, that is good info. I think I'll talk to them tomorrow and order one. My appreciation to all.

What type of wood is it? Depending on how tough it is you might want to just carry it in the pouch. I have 2 wood inlay smells in my rotation, one is pouch carried (snakewood)and the other is not (buckeye burl).

I carry my small micarta insingo by the clip all the time.

In fact, the little indent on it kinda "locks" it on my pocket. I find it moves on my pocket less than most of my other small knives.

I love the pocket clip on the Seb. The double hump design is unparalleled in my opinion. Yet another detail shown incredible attention by Mr. Reeve.

When I first got mine, I didn't care for it so much. It was snagging on things, and I almost lost the knife, because i was sitting next to someone, and it snagged on his jacket pocket, and when I got out of the vehicle, it pulled out of my pocket. And I didn't know it. He kindly gave it back to me. So then I removed it, and put quite a bit more tension on it, since then I have had NO problems. And it helps that I'm much more conscious about it's whereabouts at all times. I couldn't imagine losing this one. Much less 5 or 6!

If I had lost five or six Sebs you would find me at the nearest mental help facility as I'd of surely gone insane with grief....:)

I've had five or six small Sebenzas come out of my pocket while being clipped. Don't know why as that never happened with the larges. The clips are the same size too so who knows? Just bad juju I suppose.

So with smalls I now take off the clip, put it in the leather slip pouch, stick it in my pocket.

Alright:)

Okay, I was WRONG about him losing all of those Sebbies. All right? I apologized to him and now to you. I was confused. AND, I didn't know that EVERYBODY would know exactly whom I was talking about. I've already apologized to him for my stupidity. Man, there is NO anonymity on this forum AT ALL. Holy Crap.
:)
Let's forget the whole thing; he's one heck of a fine fellow, and I've known him forever...almost. Thank you.

Well, tomorrow my good friend from "up north" is putting my small Seb 21 box elder into the mail. Now, that's a very good feeling, huh?
Wow.

I like the leather pouches and have carried a few knives in pouches but strongly prefer the clip.
I just use the original clip and have had no issues.
I wouldn't want to lose it but I have little to no fear of that happening with the factory clips.

No clips for me. If you decide you don't want the leather pocket pouch, Sonnydaze, let me know. I'll happily take it off your hands. :)

I guess I just don't understand what the attraction is in carrying a knife clipped to my pocket. Based on my line of work, I don't need to get to my knife in a hurry nor do I need to advertise to the world that I'm carrying a knife (weapon?). And if RiverRat84's confession doesn't put the fear of God into me, I don't know what will . . .

I've had five or six small Sebenzas come out of my pocket while being clipped.

Believe me, RiverRat84, you're not the first person who's had a knife come out of their pocket while being clipped and you won't be the last. Sort of makes me wonder why anyone who doesn't have to carry their knife clipped to their pocket would choose to run that risk.

I carry my knives clipped because my pockets are all deep so it would take a minute to fumble around in my pocket to get my knife. It's just more convenient for me to carry my knives clipped. And it leaves room for my pen/flashlight/lighter etc at the bottoms of my pockets.

I understand. But I'd still be concerned about exposing what's undoubtedly the most expensive thing in my pocket to a greater risk of loss than anything else in my pocket. At a minimum, I'd be checking my pocket all the time to make sure my knife is still there. That's just ridiculous as far as I'm concerned. I'd rather rearrange what's in my pockets to allow me to keep my knife safe, secure and out of sight. And come to think of it, that's exactly what I do.
