Which production knives reach semi-custom levels?

I agree with Pete, Hogue- Elishewitz is awesome construction for a production knife. It is such a great value.

Spyderco Leafstorm - Sick!

Can't imagine that a Wilkens custom could perform any better.

Win-win colaboration.

Just today bought a Al Mar Mini Sere 2k, very impressive little knife, very well made. I am impressed.

To me, and what I've heard and read on BF before, a Semi-Custom is:

1. a knife that is produced massively yet is handled by the maker/designer for finishing up the knife - basically the handles or blades are punched out/machined and the maker himself and/or his team put their hands on the knife and put some elbow grease into finishing up the knife. Such as grinding the blade or putting some filework on the knife, etc....
2. Chris Reeve Knives
3. Strider

What is also interesting is when everyone heard "Semi-Custom" and "Custom" we all jumped on the frame lock and titanium train :D

To me, my 790 Subrosa has close tolerances (most benchmades do) and the titanium handled frame lock has that Sebenza feeling yet is half the price. Now I really want to get a Sebenza again (traded mine and always regretted it) but for now the Subrosa has enough quality and usefullness to hold me off for now :o

I believe what the OP was asking for are production knives that are high in quality, fit and finish, won't fall apart, and are pretty high up there next to and/or below semi-customs.

Anyone mention the Bradley Alias? I just got an Alias 1 a few days ago and this thing is pretty damn sweet..

I've heard AG Russell and Chirs Reeve knives mentioned as "production" knives.

Doesn't AG Russell and Chris Reeve fall under the category as "semi-custom"? If not, they both make amazing "production" knives.

I had both an alias 1 and 2 and sold them. I don't think they are anywhere near both the sebenzas I recently got. I also think that the Buck Mayo TNT was much better then the alias. If you can't get a sebenza, definitely try to get the buck mayo tnt, I was much happier with it.

Now, the alias's were fine knives, but I just think the buck mayo and sebenzas were much higher quality. I didn't like that on the alias the where the blade locked up with the frame, there wasn't much of a contact patch like there is on the sebenza and tnt. I think the sebenza are definitely worth what they are asking for it.
