Which SAK?

Guy, keep the Swisschamp and get a small Vice-Grip to go with it :D

You know, I was actually thinking the same thing!!! Now, if I could get a small vise grip with a pry bar at the other end, I think I'd be all set... At least until some other new gadget comes around!

Wade: Yeah, the XLT sure looks cool! Please don't tempt me! Now just imagine: The XLT-flame! Wouldn't that be the ultimate?

I'd love to see the Swiss tortch model come out over here. They just need to make one big XLT with everything, clock with alarm, tortch, LED light, thermometer, etc. :)

Aha! That's just what I got for my key chain, the knife I talked about in my above post. Fits your description perfectly.

VN53857 Swiss Army Midnight Manager II w/ Light

It's very small.

I think thats gonna be the one for me :D

I figure it can replace the old buck thats been on my keys for the past 6 or 7 years. It was some discontinued model I found in SMKW catalouge. It can also replace my bottle opener and the imitation photon i had on there till the battery died. Plus it has a pen. Sounds good. Too bad I dont have a dime to spend for another month or two:( No biggie I just got a SS PE Cricket last week anyway. Thanks everybody;)

This cracks me up as I just got a SS PE Cricket this week with the Midnight Manager in sapphire blue. I love them both. The Cricket is just a cool little knife. I think I'm going to have to get the steel SE version at some point. I like the fact that I can carry it in the little jean pocket above the main pocket. Not sure the proper name for that little pocket, change pocket? Useless pocket? Well, it's useless no more! :) It holds my Cricket, and the big pocket holds my 710HSSR.

What a coincidence :) I agree the cricket is a great little knife. Also I think that pocket is called a watch pocket. Used for pocket watches back in the day ;) It's pretty much a knife pocket for me since I don't usually carry anything too large.

Watch pocket works for me! It's now my Cricket pocket. Now if only most jeans had a watch pocket on the right and the left pockets. Then I could have a PE and a SE in each. :)

I carry the Fieldmaster -- it's the Huntsman with a phillips instead of a corkscrew.

Two layers is all I can handle for urban carry. I carry a black handled Tinker for urban carry. It is next to my wallet in my right front pocket and I hardly know it is there. New Graham has a special on an onyx Tinker for $9.99.

In the woods I carry the aluminum handled Farmer or the Trailmaster. The phillips screwdriver is real handy to carry around and found on the Tinker and the Trailmaster. :D :D

Great thread.
Urban carry is usually a recruit and a rambler, the bottle opener on a small frame SAK is hard to beat.'

When in the woods a black huntsman or old champion is on me.

Also have a saphire midnight manager on my keyring that's a neat little knife.

As I mentioned in an earlier post I really like the Tinker. But I also own a red Alox Pocket Pal, silver Alox Bantam, silver Alox Cadet and red Picnicker. The Tinker and the Picnicker ride in my glove box and my Wife's glove box respectively. The three smaller knives rotate in my left pocket as companion EDCs to my small Sebbie. They make great second knives due to their smaller blades which can be used for situations where I find the blade on my Sebbie to be too large. My favorite is the Bantam because of it's "multi-task tool" secondary blade.

I also have the:

Yeoman for picnics +

and the Cybertool for repairing PCs

Oh yeah, and of course the classic on the keychain. I want to upgrade to the saphire manager II. Can't beat a bottle opener on a mini!!

The manager II is a nice little knife, but I used the phillips tonight and had a tough time rotating it while it was on my key chain. It's a shame Victorinox didn't put the key ring on the opposite side of the knife and have it on a swivel so you can spin the knife around while it's on the key chain. I'll have to get a detachable clip for it so I can remove it from my key chain when I need to use the screw drivers. However, I mainly purcahsed it for the bottle opener, pen and light. So I've been very happy with it.

Does anyone know which V'nox models come/came with a Wharncliffe blade? I've become quite partial to the design and would love to get a V'nox or two with such a blade.

Yes, the ones for plants and graphing. Not the traditional shape with the joints and various tools but rather specialized for plants and herb growers I believe.

Oh yeah and Wade

Manager II = No Light
Midnight Manager = Light

;)

I'm pretty sure that the Victorinox grafting knives are chisel ground.
