which sebenza should i get (large or small)?

i'm trying to decide which sebenza to get... it would be my one-and-only folder... so, it would have to do everything i could possibly need a knife to do... i would be carrying it daily in my front pants pocket (khakis at work, blue-jeans after work and weekends)... any suggestions?

Large decorated with wood inlay.

The way I see it, if your going to spend 290 dollars for a knife, whats another 35 to make it a large? Welcome to the forums.

Be alert, the world needs more lerts.

Probably, where you want to carry it a small would be your best size.
A lot of people can carry a large by clipping it to the outboard edge of the pocket. Personally I consider the large a sheath knife, but I have carried in my jeans front pocket.
If possible, try both before buying.

jdd,
It doesn't matter because if you buy one you will buy another.
For front pocket care, the large is too large
unless you use the clip. The small will do everything normally needed.
I have both a large and small and I alternate carrying them in my back left pocket.
I have large hands and think I prefer the small best.
Like I said if you buy one you will buy another.
Another point if you are looking for a user, buy one lightly used or just carried. It should save you $50.

From your carry description, a small would suit you best. It is a great all-around user.

If I were to get one today, I'd opt for a small one with the wood inlay, they are very nice and comfortably, even though they have that clip thing going. But it does depend on how large your hands are? My palm measures about 3 1/2" wide and the small fits my hand very well, I've heard some of our larger friends that have gotten the small and then sold it because it was too small for them and moved up to the large. I have the large Sebenza as well and it is comfortable to use but folks tend to be shocked when that knife is put into use, the small does about everything the large can do, again, I'd opt for the wood inlay as noted above, very nice looking stuff!
Good luck hunting!

I'd go with a small as my first.

I carry the large clipped to my front pocket and I've never wished it were smaller. Of course, next to the Sifu I clip IWB, the large Sebbie seems like a small knife.

Do you ever fly?? Then you want the small one. What are the knife laws in your state?? You might want a small one. Do you work with other knife people?? Get a small one.

Ya know, the other day at a local cutlery store i held a sebensa (Lg. & Sm.) and i found it hard to close with one hand. I meen, it was seriously uncomfortable. Oh well, just some food for thought.

Closing sebenzas just take some getting used to. After a while it becomes second nature. It was hard for me to close my sebenza at first too. The technique is a little different than liner locks. There is no scale for you to rest your fingers on to push the lock bar over.
