Which shall it be? To order my first Busse (TGLB) or to hold the fund for Knob Creek?

How's this sound? I'll send you my TGLB, see if it's what you want. Then make your decision. I would be willing to trust you.

Thank you for the offer as I am very aware how precious trust is on this forum. I will have to keep it in mind (I am out of town a lot this month).

And Worldwood, I already have a Swamp Rat RMD Bowie knife. :)

Looks like I will have to find a way to go to the Busse convention that is before the Knob Creek weekend. No point in missing out the "firsties". So opening of Busse's knives display happens the Thursday during the week of Knob Creek?

Here you go, LE.

Maybe it's soon to be retired, no?

I'm not Jerry, so take this for what it's worth (2 cents or less?)...
But if I were the owner of a knife production company whose awesome knife was currently featured in a very popular TV show, I would not pull it from sale until some time after the start of the current season of that show... In this case, TWD starts October 31st. :)

Just my take, anyway. :D

TGLB is my favorite design fixed blade in the history of the world. Get it. ;)

People can argue the effectiveness of INFI and Jerry's heat treatment protocol all day long. What in unquestionable is Jerry Busse's absolute superiority in marketing. A completely unconventional business model and unconventional approach has propelled Busse and kin to amazing levels in the knife business. Some like it, some hate it. But there has never been anything like it. Being different has always been viewed poorly by inferior minds.

So, I believe that Jaxx is right on. My opinion is that Busse will continue to offer more than one knife at a time, but still in limited time releases.

But back to the OP question at hand... I'd say order now and get exactly the color/handle combo that you want. If you find another at knob creek.. buy it too. An abundance of INFI is a great thing. :D

.

I think you should definitely go to Knob Creek! It's an awesome experience with a lot of wonderful people. You will definitely find something that you like there

I'd have to agee with beef, i am trying to hold out for KC myself :D its not easy but i know it's going to be worth it . Here is some pics of a small portion of the knifes at the spring show

That is very cool. I am hoping to make a pilgrimage to Belgium, Germany, Ireland and Scotland to trace my heritage some day. Who would have thought that I would like to drink with a background like that. :D

With that heritage id be surprised if you have any blood mixed in with your alcohol levels :)

England is a great place, make sure to try the local brews :D :very_drunk: lots of good stuff.

I just beheaded a rattler with a TGLB that was lingering on my front porch.

(um, the rattler was lingering, not the TGLB)

Buy it!

Sounds like Pokey thinks you can get the best of both worlds at KC! She usually has pretty good advice. ;-)

Lady Earth,

Welcome to the Busse Experience!:)

Id try and decide on which finish I want.

Id sign up for the Busse News letter that way you will be notified of changes in offerings.

This way if you get the email. You already know your color and can make an easy last minute order before last call.

Then Id prepare for KC. Call now and even now you may not get a room. Especially, at the GM.

Then Id bring a good pair of gloves, and maybe a leather jacket so you dont get cut in the frenzy...more later:D

Then I would do a lot of reading, try and prepare an attack, and come understanding that you will get to have a wild time, handle everything, meet with some great people...

but ultimately in the end you have to be prepared if you dont score.:( Bring tissues;):D

Im not trying to rain on things, although it rains there a lot...bring your rain suit, and boots:thumbup:

Im just trying to prepare you for the Battle of your life...see even I got tore up this last KC. THey cut me, kicked me, bit me and did everything to keep me down.

I did ok, but didnt get near enough. So, come prepared;):D

Ha, awesome welcome.

Already am open to many coatings, not picky at all.

Already have news letter subscribed. (It's been silence for a while now)

I plan on camping instead of trying to get a room.

That being said, I do wonder...When people look at those busse knives, do they just look at it, handle it and leave it even if they want it? Or do they look at it, want it, and pick it up to carry it around to prevent anyone else from buying them? I'm not sure how hands on it will be in terms of making sure one gets a good score. (e.g. "Oh! I love this knife....but I haven't seen the rest of the place yet...do I leave it here and risk it being taken by the time I'm done looking around?")
